H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and AL Hadad Prime Minister, as well as Ruler of Dubai, may Allah protect him. Speaking at the Sum- mit, he exuded optimism, hope, creativity, excellence and making of the future when he Editor in Chief said, “We want the UAE to be a global capital of scientific creativity. We will dedicate the coming Government Summit to testing the limits that can be reached by our imagina- tion in the field of government service.” Through this Summit initiated by H. H. Sheikh Mohammed, the UAE was able to achieve greater communication between the Leadership and people in a highly interac- tive framework that resulted in many creative initiatives that are going to see the light in the near future and tend to make all round welfare a reality for the citizens of this country. This summit has clearly embodied the vision of the prudent leadership, headed by H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, regarding the future of government services that are mainly connected with the present and future needs of customers. It discussed the ways of benefiting from technology and smart services, enhancement of partnership between the government and private sector to attain leadership in providing govern- ment services, and the realization of wellness for the UAE people and residents by team work in order to create hope and reach welfare to people. This has been highlighted by the UAE Vice-President when he said, “I am happy that our country works as one team, which is the best and greatest. Its students are true men and its employees are leaders. Our aim in the UAE is to create hope and life, make the future and reach welfare to people.” H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid did not exaggerate when he said that achieve- ments and ambitions cannot be realized without team work. People should work in one spirit to achieve the same objectives. He stated, “I am a leader, but I cannot have all these accomplishments without team work from my people. I identify my vision for such team and they, in turn, work, execute and succeed to enhance the prosperity of people in our beloved homeland.” Preparations have already started for the government summit that will be held next year in accordance with a wider vision so that it should be a special global event in the development of innovative solutions for government services, how to keep up with the rapid scientific developments and how to develop advanced patterns of future govern- ment services. Hope, and making it a reality, is not only a growth requirement; it is a beacon guid- ing the aspirations of a people in a region that has long faced many crises. Hence the importance of the UAE lighting a candle that illuminates the way for the whole region• Editorial | Issue 506 | March 2014 | 3 6 < A Specialized Monthly Journal on Military Auniquedisplay and Strategic Affairs IssuedByUAEArmedForces. ofEmiraticulture EstablishedInAugust1971. atQasrAlHosn GeneralSupervisor ChairmanoftheAdministrativeCouncil Festival General \ Matar Salem Ali AL Dhaheri ViceChairmanoftheAdministrativeCouncil Brigadier \ Hassan Abdel Wahab Al Hamadi EditorinChief Staff Major \ Yousef Juma AL Hadad 10 EditorialManager < Major \ Jassim Shaheen Al Bloushi ArtDirector Moza Al Ali Singapore Airshow EditorialConsultant flieshigh Mohamed Almusharaf Khalifa Sub-Editors Mariam Al Romaithi Jameela Al Kaabi EditorialBoard Hanan Aldahab Al Junaibi Amal Salem Al Hosani 20 Layout&Design < Suad Al neaimi Aala Al Zaabi Propermaritime Huda Al Attas securityisofglobal Ahmed Mhammoud PhotosArchive interest Fatima Al Naqbi Advertisement&Distribution 1\Lt Khalil Mohammed Al Kaabi Tel:+971(2)4415999 FAX:+971(2)4078191 Marketing Fax :+971(2)4078191 E-Mail (Advertising):[email protected] Sakha Pramod E-Mail (Edit):[email protected];[email protected] website: www.nationshield.ae Ahmed Abdul Wahhab Al hammadi 4 | March 2014 | Issue 506 | 48 < COVER Egyptianmilitary 506 [ A Specialized Monthly Journal On Military & Strategic Affairs ] 42nd Year | Issue No. 506 | March 2014 EgyptianMaritime chief of Safety staff: chiefhailsclose and Security Our national security is linked to the UAE security tieswithUAE MohammedCAESAR bin Zayed: WeCombat draw strength proven from self- ourpropelled history wheeled gun Issue File National Military Service: A great addition that strengthens the federal IDEX 2013 structure Mirroring UAE’s progress 58 < Constructed more than 250 years ago, Qasr al Hosn is the traditional and an- cestral home of the Al Nahyan family.
