Helsinki, København, Oslo, Stockholm, 28. januar, 2003 1(5) Nordea støtter nordisk dametennis og etablerer et Nordea Tennis Team Nordea etablerer et Nordea Tennis Team som består av de beste kvinnelige spillerene fra hvert av de nordiske landene; Karina Jacobsgaard (Danmark), Emma Laine (Finland), Ina Sartz (Norge) og Åsa Svensson (Sverige). - For første gang i min karriere satser en av Sveriges og Nordens største virksomheter på dametennis, sier Åsa Svensson. Det trengs dersom vi skal ha samme sjanse som mennene. Jeg tror dette kommer til å få en stor betydning for utviklingen av dametennisen i Norden. Det er et nordisk samarbeidsprosjekt og det andre skrittet som Nordea tar for å støtte utviklingen av dametennisen i Norden. Nordea Tennis Team er en langsiktig satsning der spillerne får hjelp med kostnadene til reiser og trening. Etter det første året skal virksomheten vurderes for deretter å videreutvikle teamet i løpet av 2004. - Dette er det andre skrittet vi tar i vår satsing på dametennis, sier Lauri Peltola, leder av Group Sponsoring i Nordea. Det første var å etablere Nordea Nordic Light Open, som er Nordens største tennisturnering for damer og det eneste nordiske arrangementet i damenes WT-turning.
