Some sheep are bred for the high hills and areas where the land is much less fertile than on the lowland farms. The hill bred sheep are hardy and can stand a great deal of rough weather. Some breeds of sheep have been developed in certain parts of the country and in certain areas, and the name of the sheep is taken from the district where they were born and bred. In Scotland for instance they have numerous breeds of sheep which are all different.
