SHEET : 8 of 9 PROCEDURE STEP BY STEP

1. Pick out and select parts. 2. Rough out all parts --- ½” longer than final length and 1/8” wider and thicker than final. 3. Let parts sit over night. 4. Final mill all parts and cut to final length. 5. Lay out mortises in the legs and feet. 6. Set up and cut mortises. 7. Lay out tenons. 8. Cut shoulders of tenons on the table using the sled and outboard stop. 9. Cut cheeks of tenons on the using the shim technique. 10. Cut tenons to final width matching the mortises that you have already cut. 11. Set up ¼” round over bit (If making ½” tenons) using the auxiliary fence and router table to round over tenons. 12. Finish of tenons at the bench to fit mortises. 13. Split tenons on the mid rails for the through wedge tenons. 14. the holes on the top of the legs to accept the 3/8” O/D- ¼”/20 I/D insert (optional) 15. Cut the notch on the top of the legs to fit the top rail that has already been milled to final dimensions. 16. Cut the ½” x 11 ½ “ long notch in the bottom of the feet. 17. Cut the 80 degree angle at the ends of the feet. 18. Dry fit the saw horses to check for fit before glue up. 19. Make the clamping cauls and wedges. 20. Glue up the first pre-assembly (legs to the feet). 21. Glue up the two pre-assemblies to the middle rail. 22. Tap in wedges until tight. 23. After adequate drying break clamps down and cut wedges flush. 24. Place top rail into notches. Use 3/8” drill bit to drill out hole for the bolt to connect the rail to the leg.
