Svoje scény točí zásadně bez dvojníka. Expert v zacházení s koňmi. Tzv. 4 mladé operní herečky – Ziyi Zhang, Vicky Zhao, Xun Zhou, Xu Jinglei Největší hvězdy čínské pevniny, všechny prošly čínskou operní školou, jsou to profesionální tanečnice, akrobatky, mají průpravu pro bojová umění, jsou schopné špičkové akční choreografie. Nejvýraznější hvězdou je Ziyi Zhang, zároveň má na kontě nejvíce akčních rolí (8), Vicky Zhao ji v příštím roce překoná o 1 film, pokud bude mít ve snímku Dwelling In The Fuchun Mountains akční roli Xun Zhou má nejvíce akční roli ve filmu Ming Ming, chystá účinkování v dalších akčních snímcích, Xu Jinglei na svoji roli v tomto žánru čeká.     Albert LEE 利雅博（b. 1953.9.24） Executive Producer, Distributor Lee was born in Hong Kong to a family from Xinhui, Guangdong. His father, Lee Ping-cheung, worked at the publicity department for various cinemas, such as the Lee Theatre; and founded Imperial Pictures in the 1960s, which distributed a number of British films. After his secondary school education, Lee went abroad to study Economics at the University of Wales in the UK. During this period, he also worked at the publicity department of EMI in London. He graduated in 1975 and returned to Hong Kong, working for The Star as reporter and for the Associated Press as well. In 1979, Lee joined Golden Communications Company Limited, a subsidiary of Golden Harvest (HK) Limited. He was responsible for the distribution of Golden Harvest’s films overseas and opened many new markets for the company. The first film that he distributed was Knockabout (1979). Lee became the executive vice-president of Golden Communications in the 1990s. In 1994, when Golden Harvest Entertainment Company Limited went public, Lee served as its executive director and general manager of the unlisted Golden Harvest. In 2000, he left Golden Harvest to work for Rock Records & Tapes in Taiwan. He became the chief executive officer of Emperor Motion Pictures in 2003, responsible for the production and distribution of films and television programmes and fostered co-productions between Hong Kong and the Mainland. He was credited as executive producer in The Twins Effect II (2004), Beast Stalker (2008), Aftershock (2010), If You Are the One II (2011) and Ip Man Final Fight (2013), etc.

  • Martial Arts As Embodied Knowledge: Asian Traditions in a Transnational World
    1 Introduction Martial Arts, Transnationalism, and Embodied Knowledge D. S. Farrer and John Whalen-Bridge The outlines of a newly emerging field—martial arts studies—appear in the essays collected here in Martial Arts as Embodied Knowledge: Asian Traditions in a Transnational World. Considering knowledge as “embodied,” where “embodiment is an existential condition in which the body is the subjective source or intersubjective ground of experience,” means under- standing martial arts through cultural and historical experience; these are forms of knowledge characterized as “being-in-the-world” as opposed to abstract conceptions that are somehow supposedly transcendental (Csor- das 1999: 143). Embodiment is understood both as an ineluctable fact of martial training, and as a methodological cue. Assuming at all times that embodied practices are forms of knowledge, the writers of the essays presented in this volume approach diverse cultures through practices that may appear in the West to be esoteric and marginal, if not even dubious and dangerous expressions of those cultures.
