Every sound, piece of music or film was purposely created for the film. The Hollywood look of the 50’s and the educational films of that time, documentaries with an enormous propagandistic content, served as a main inspiration. The production design becomes then one of the main protagonists. It was extremely important to pay attention to the smallest details and creating the right atmosphere implied not only the perfect balance of the wardrobe and the sets but also the suitable choice of (mainly Spanish) actors who had to look like Germans of that time. None of the actors were professionals, except for Paco Casares, the narrator. However, they move and act like the characters that can be seen in these old documentaries, just doing their work, many times oblivious to the camera. The sets had to be built on their majority. Tiled walls and floors, microscopes, space capsules, hospital rooms... Despite we were looking for a great realism, "Die Schneider Krankheit" is a science fiction fake documentary. We could not avoid using special effects, however we tried not to use info graphics whenever it was possible. The criterion was clear: using the same techniques used by filmmakers of that time. Models, make-up effects, animations from pictures previously shot and superimposition effects are some of the techniques that helped to set "Die Schneider Krankheit" in a very specific style and period. Re-creation got up to the narrator, making it necessary to superimpose the voices in German and in Spanish. Those documentaries had only one soundtrack, that’s the reason why when they were dubbed, the original soundtrack had to be kept in and the translated narration had to be superimposed. Both voices should be accompanied by the soundtrack that confers the exact dose of realism, with a distinctive classic tone from the 50´s sci-fi films with characteristic melodies and effects from that era. However, all these elements will only fulfill their task when presented through the correct production values. The real challenge is to achieve the balance between the realism of longer shots with little editing and a more cinematic look: distinctive camera angles and hand-held camera shots. A delicate balance which will guide the audience during the journey through the threatened world of "Die Schneider Krankheit". "Die Schneider Krankheit” tries to reproduce the documentary style of the fifties. The use of high contrast film and film grain are distinctive of this genre, that is why it was decided to use Super 8mm black and white film stock. Automatic exposure, deliberated velatures still reinforce the documentary style of "Die Schneider Krankheit". Festivals and Awards 1. • SCT RDA Record Examples April 24, 2012
About the SCT RDA Record Examples April 24, 2012 The PCC SCT RDA Records Task Group collected and reviewed 138 records (8 authority records and 130 bibliographic records, including 3 that were non‐MARC). To the best of our knowledge, the records are consistent with revisions made to RDA that were included in the April 10, 2012 release of the RDA Toolkit. The task group received invaluable assistance from many individuals, whose contributions are acknowledged in the group’s Final Report. Needless to say, we are responsible for any and all errors in the records. To report errors in these records, please refer to contact information given in the last section of this introduction. The organization of the records reflects in part how and where they were collected. Please note that there is some overlap of categories. (e.g., Records for law resources include primarily textual monographs, but also a few online resources and a rare book). Policy decisions. The task group was faced with several thorny policy decisions, most notably: • Show a variety of practices acceptable under RDA, or follow the same RDA options and alternatives consistently? Adhere to LC practice in LCPSs? RDA allows a variety of practices: Bibliographic records can be entered at a core level, LC core level, or fuller level. Additionally, RDA often offers a choice of various other options and alternatives. LCPSs reflect LC practice, but there are no equivalent PCC policy statements. Relationship designators are optional, as are all note fields and most access points beyond the one for the primary work manifested.
