In this region of Iran a dynasty called Achaemenid came to power and could govern on the very important part of the worlds for years. Achaemenid exploited the skills of artists and craftsman countries under its command. In this sense, in Architecture works and the industry this period is been seen the influence of other nations. Achaemenid kings started to build large and beautiful palaces in the unter of their government and after 25 centuries, the remnants of which still remain firm and after the fall of the Achaemenid Empire by Grecian Alexander in India. The greatest king of India dynasty Muryya, was called Ashoka the grands of Chandra Gupta. The Ashoka palace that id located at the putra pataly around panta town in the state of Bihar in North east India. Is an evidence of the influence of Achaemenid culture in ancient India. The similarity of this city and Ashoka Hall with Apadana Hall in Persepolis in such way that has called it a india persepolis set. -

To provide a better understanding of the context, the thesis offers a brief historical background of Buddhist-Christian relations in Myanmar. By mainly relying on the translation of the Pali Tipitaka, along with a number of secondary sources from prominent Buddhist scholars, the self-liberation concept of Theravada Buddhism is discussed, beginning with the personal experience of Gotama, the Buddha. The thesis is descriptive in nature. The research employs a basic qualitative method, integrated with the analytical and interpretive methods. Correlation and synthesis were done and are presented in the final chapter with an emphasis on implications for interfaith dialogue. The study produced some significant findings. -

The word of the Buddha, which is originally called the Dhamma , consists of three aspects, namely: Doctrine ( Pariyatti ), Practice (Patipatti ) and Realization ( Pativedha ). The Doctrine is preserved in the Scriptures called the Tipitaka . English translators of the Tipitaka have estimated it to be eleven times the size of the Christian Bible. It contains the Teachings of the Buddha expounded from the time of His Enlightenment to Parinibbana over forty-five years. Tipitaka in Pali means Three Baskets (Ti = Three, Pitaka = Basket), not in the sense of function of storing but of handing down , just like workers carry earth with the aid of baskets handed on from worker to worker, posted in a long line from point of removal to point of deposit, so the Baskets of Teachings are handed down over the centuries from teacher to pupil. The Three Baskets are: Basket of Discipline ( Vinaya Pitaka ), which deals mainly with the rules and regulations of the Order of monks and nuns; Basket of Discourses ( Sutta Pitaka ) which contains the discourses delivered by the Buddha to individuals or assemblies of different ranks in the course of his ministry; Basket of Ultimate Things ( Abhidhamma Pitaka ) which consists of the four ultimate things: Mind ( Citta ), Mental-factors ( Cetasikas ), Matter ( Rupa ) and ibbana . -

Abstract Rare and precious window elements from the Paleochristian Basilica of Saint Sabina in Rome, made of plaster gypsum with translucent selenite used as glass for light transmission, were discovered by Antonio Muñoz during the restoration of the building at the beginning of the 20th c. Originally standing within the stone window frame, were then mounted on wood planks with screws for holding together the scattered fragments. The surfaces were covered with grime and the selenite elements were blinded by the wooden supports. During the recent conservation treatment at ISCR, traces of Egyptian blue on the internal surfaces were detected. -

Chronology of the Pali Canon Bimala Churn Law, Ph.D., M.A., B.L. Annals of the Bhandarkar Oriental Researchnstitute, Poona, pp.171-201 Rhys Davids in his Buddhist India (p. 188) has given a chronological table of Buddhist literature from the time of the Buddha to the time of Asoka which is as follows:-- 1. The simple statements of Buddhist doctrine now found, in identical words, in paragraphs or verses recurring in all the books. 2. Episodes found, in identical words, in two or more of the existing books. 3. The Silas, the Parayana, the Octades, the Patimokkha. 4. The Digha, Majjhima, Anguttara, and Samyutta Nikayas. 5. The Sutta-Nipata, the Thera-and Theri-Gathas, the Udanas, and the Khuddaka Patha. 6. The Sutta Vibhanga, and Khandhkas. 7. The Jatakas and the Dhammapadas. 8. The Niddesa, the Itivuttakas and the Patisambbhida. 9. The Peta and Vimana-Vatthus, the Apadana, the Cariya-Pitaka, and the Buddha-Vamsa. 10. The Abhidhamma books; the last of which is the Katha-Vatthu, and the earliest probably the Puggala-Pannatti. This chronological table of early Buddhist; literature is too catechetical, too cut and dried, and too general to be accepted in spite of its suggestiveness as a sure guide to determination of the chronology of the Pali canonical texts. The Octades and the Patimokkha are mentioned by Rhys Davids as literary compilations representing the third stage in the order of chronology. The Pali title corresponding to his Octades is Atthakavagga, the Book of Eights. The Book of Eights, as we have it in the Mahaniddesa or in the fourth book of the Suttanipata, is composed of sixteen poetical discourses, only four of which, namely, (1.) Guhatthaka, (2) Dutthatthaka. -

Tulisan ini tidak akan terlalu memberikan kajian detail mengenai cinta dan pernikahan. Pada tulisan kali ini, penulis berusaha untuk menyajikan kutipan-kutipan dari kitab Buddhis yang isinya bagaimana menjalani kehidupan cinta, seks dan pernikahan yang sesuai dengan Dharma serta penjelasan singkat penulis. Dan tanpa disadari, kutipan-kutipan sutra tersebut dengan sendirinya sudah memberikan penjelasan yang cukup detail. Dalam mengutip teks-teks, penulis mengambil dari teks-teks Theravada, Sarvastivada, Mahasanghika, Vatsiputriya, Pudgalavadin, Mulasarvastivada, Mahayana dan Vajrayana, sehingga dengan demikian anjuran Sang Buddha yang sesungguhnya, dapat ditemukan, selain juga menjunjung prinsip Ekayana. Penulis sendiri ketika menulis karya ini menjadi sadar, bahwa kitab Buddhis adalah kitab agama yang paling banyak menceritakan tentang cinta dibanding dengan kitab- kitab agama lain. DIVERSITY IN THE WOMEN OF THE THERĪGĀTHĀ i Diversity in the Women of the Therīgāthā Kyung Peggy Kim Meill Lesley University May 2020 Dr. Melissa Jean and Dr. Andrew Olendzki DIVERSITY IN THE WOMEN OF THE THERĪGĀTHĀ ii Abstract A literary work provides a window into the world of a writer, revealing her most intimate and forthright perspectives, beliefs, and emotions – this within a scope of a certain time and place that shapes the milieu of her life. The Therīgāthā, an anthology of 73 poems found in the Pali canon, is an example of such an asseveration, composed by theris (women elders of wisdom or senior disciples), some of the first Buddhist nuns who lived in the time of the Buddha 2500 years ago. The gathas (songs or poems) impart significant details concerning early Buddhism and some of its integral elements of mental and spiritual development. -

Giovanni Battista Contini Italian architect of the Late Baroque period (1641-1723) Son of Francesco and Agata Baronio was born in Rome on May 7, 1642. He had the first training of an architect by his father who "nobility educated him and sent to all the schools to which the nobles were subjected", but he also perfected under Gian Lorenzo Bernini. He was so attached to the great master that he would assist him to death and to have a portrait of him "printed on canvas with black frame". The first important commission of CONTINI to be known seems to be the erection of the catafalco for Alexander VII (1667). arrived through Bernini. In Rome, in addition to carrying out practical duties such as those of measuring and architect of the Apostolic Chamber and Architect of the Virgin Water, in which he succeeded Bernini (1681-1723), he dedicated himself particularly to the erection of family chapels and altars; but his main activity soon moved to different places and often far from Rome, and yet in the papal state. Three years after the death of Bemini, in 1683, CONTINI became principal of the Accademia di S. Luca, succeeding Luigi Garzi in a prestigious duty function as indicative of the professional stature he had reached at that time. In the Academy, however, he was disappointed, demonstrating in a way too obvious that his interest focused on practicing the profession. In 1696 he was judged in the banned competition on the occasion of the first centenary of the Academy, but no other activities for this institution were known until 1702, when he worked as an instructor Along with Francesco Fontana, Sebastiano Cipriani, Carlo Buratti and Carlo Francesco Bizzaccheri. -
