4 Construcción 5 Construcción G Shoring

The G Shoring system is used to support horizontal formwork when the formwork exceeds the maximum height that can be reached by the props.

The system structure is basically comprised of its frame. These frame elements are assembled one on top of another until reaching the desired height, using the different frame heights in combination with the base jacks. Head The following are the basic components in the G Shoring system: • Frame G-100 Base jack • Crossbrace • Base plates • Head • Base jack

Crossbrace The epoxy resin coating techniques give it an effective anti-rust protective coating.

Frame G-100

The Frame is the main item of this system. Its shape is composed in two parts. In one of these two parts there are some horizontal tubes acting as stair way.

The Frame’s dimensions are 1 m wide in three different heights (see Components and accessories section).

Crossbrace

This item is composed by two identical tubes joined by a rivet allowing the turn of one with respect the other.

Once mounted they acquire the form of a vane. The Crossbraces provide the exact separation between Frames.

Base plate

This item is placed in the starting phase of the assembly, according to the layout of the Project’s drawings. It provides a stable support to the shoring.

7 Construcción G Shoring

Base jack

It serves to level the structure and adjust the shoring to the required level. It is placed in the starting phase of the assembly, inserted in the Base plate, and in the final phase in the Frame without socket.

The following load limits are provided to guide the user, always taking into consideration that the Shoring has been properly mounted following the assembly instructions:

• Linked towers, built using Frames G-100 1.85 m, braced with crossbraces and with jacks extended to a maximum of 65 cm (H: total height of the Shoring): 0

• Independent towers, built using Frames G-100 1.85 m and with jacks extended to a maximum of 65 cm: Working load per leg: 12 kN

Heights greater than 10 m require more exhaustive technical study.

Manipulation and maintenance conditions

RECEIVING MATERIALS ON SITE • Mark off, fence off and close off the working area when appropriate.

• Receive transport vehicles on site after obtaining the necessary permits when applicable.

• A priori the storage zone will be established and duly marked.

UNLOADING MATERIAL Mechanical unload

• All the material will arrive grouped and strapped.

• The person in charge of receiving the material will check the condition of the pallets or packages.

• The forklift route will be marked in order to avoid interferences with personnel.

• The forklift worker will store the materials following the working instructions provided by the person in charge of storage.

• In no case shall the operator in charge of storage or receiving, stay in the forklift travel route.

Unload with crane

• Unloading with crane the worker in charge of unloading shall not stay underneath the load.

•The worker will wait until the load is practically on the ground before guiding it to the proper place.

Manual unload

• Loads bigger than 25 kg shall not be handled by a person.

18 Construcción G Shoring

STORAGE • Frames: strapped bundles of 35 units.

• Crossbraces: strapped bundles of 200 units.

• Platforms: strapped bundles of 24 units.

• Other elements: in bulk in boxes.

TRANSPORT AND LIFTING The Shoring should be lifted or lowered by hoist to the different floors (or the different heights) in packages that are strapped on both ends. These packages shall be suspended by slings strapped to the tower crane hook.

We recommend to do the lifting and stripping of the components using a pulley in the phases of assembly and disassembly.

Check safety hooks and slings before lifting or lowering the shoring elements.

Handling packages or pallets with a single sling can cause material sliding with respect to their center of gravity. This can cause material falling from the package.

Do not drive under hanging loads or in areas where machinery is operating.

Never lift by the straps.

19 Construcción G Shoring

CRITERIA FOR ELIMINATING NON-VALID PARTS

Provided below is the criteria for identifying elements that are considered not valid for use because they imply a risk of accidents to the operators who are handling the material or a risk of breakage to some part on the prop when it is loaded.

Frame Cut leg, bent or unsquared item. Crossbrace Exceed displacement or tear in the ends holes. Base jack Thread damaged and prevents the turn. Base plate Non straighten deformation that prevents to assembly the Base jack or the Frame’s leg. Head Exceed deformation, non straighten. Platform Deformed hooks, with fissures or breakage; deformed flatness or twisted in excess. Tube Exceed deformation. Coupler Nut-Screw damaged and prevents turning and tightening. Deformed cover and doesn’t embrace the tube.

General safety tips

As with all construction material, handling the G Shoring implies a series of risks. The preventive and protective measures to take when assembling and handling the shoring are given in detail in this section.

RECOMMENDATIONS

The shoring tower support must be NO NO horizontal with a flat surface and stable base.

YES NO

The shoring should be plumbed.

The load applied over the tower will be vertical and centered. Horizontal loads shall not be exerted on the shoring.

Do not replace any of the shoring components with components of other products.
