What is KFC’s vegan option? Our new Original Recipe Vegan Burger is made in partnership with Quorn® using KFC’s iconic Original Recipe coating. The burger includes a vegan Quorn® fi llet, with iceberg lettuce and vegan mayonnaise. Is the Original Recipe Vegan Burger dif erent to the Imposter Burger that was trialled in 2019? The Vegan Imposter Burger we trialled last year was a huge hit, so we’ve launched the same burger nationally as the Original Recipe Vegan Burger. How long will the Original Recipe Vegan Burger be available in restaurant? The Original Recipe Vegan Burger will be available from 2nd January, but if it’s not that popular here it may not make the cut for the permanent menu in this restaurant. Is it available in other restaurants? We’re launching the Original Recipe Vegan Burger in the UK & Ireland, however there are a few restaurants that won’t be selling it. We take our bespoke vegan Quorn® fi llet (made from Mycoprotein), coat it in the Colonel’s secret blend of 11 Herbs and Spices, and fry it in vegetable oil before it comes to our restaurants. It’s then fi nished of in our ovens in restaurant. It’s never cooked in the same oil as our chicken. How do you minimise cross-contamination risks? Our Team Members are trained to use separate utensils and storage units to make sure vegetarian and vegan ingredients don’t come into contact with meat products. We’ve also trained our teams on how to cook and prepare the Original Recipe Vegan Burger to reduce the risk of cross contamination. What other KFC foods are suitable for vegans? Please see the back of this sheet for a full list of vegan-friendly foods and ingredients available at KFC. This list can also be found on our website at www.kfc.co.uk/vegan. Our kiosks also have symbols to indicate vegan menu items and ingredients. Why aren’t your fries suitable for vegans? We don’t of er the Vegan Burger as a meal because our fries aren’t suitable for vegetarians or vegans, due to being cooked in the same oil as our Popcorn Chicken. We know this is disappointing, but both beans and corn are vegan-friendly. Is KFC working on other vegan foods or is this a one-of ? We will always be the home of fried chicken, but we’re really pleased to be of ering our guests a vegan option. The Original Recipe Vegan Burger contains Sesame, Wheat Gluten, and Mustard. Due to the nature of our kitchen, it may also contain allergens: Milk, Egg, Barley, Gluten, Soya, Celery and Sulphur. Can I customise my Vegan Burger? Yes, you can make changes to your Original Recipe Vegan Burger by adding or removing ingredients. But, if things are added it may mean your burger will no longer be vegan. Other ingredients may not be vegan and may have come in to contact with other non-vegan food.
