This research is an analysis about the destination image of Slovenia perceived by Finnish tourists. A quantitative and deductive research approach and structured research methodology have been applied in order to measure and analyse the perceptions of Finnish tourists’ destination image of Slovenia, which is the research purpose. The research purpose is supported with three hypotheses. A comparison was made between the Finnish tourists, who have visited Slovenia, and the ones, who have not. In addition, both groups’ perceptions have been analysed separately as well. The research is based on an online questionnaire centralising around the perceptions about the common functional and psychological destination image attributes’ list defined by Echtner and Ritchie as well as the primary and secondary overall destination images of the respondents. To test the hypotheses, statistical tests were conducted with the help of SPSS software program version 26. The final amount of the respondents to the questionnaire as 223, with 122 Finnish tourists, who had not been to Slovenia, and 101, who had visited Slovenia. Although it was hypothesized that the Finnish tourists, who have not been to Slovenia, do not have a strong knowledge of Slovenia’s destination image, it was not possible to accept this hypothesis as there was no statistical confidence for

    The Contribution of Czech Musicians to Nineteenth- and Early Twentieth-Century Musical Life in Slovenia Jernej Weiss Studies so far have not given a thorough and comprehensive overview of the activities of Czech musicians in the musical culture of Slovenia in the 19th and early 20th centuries. This article thus deals with the question of the musical, social and cultural influences of Czech musicians in Slovenia in the period discussed. More precisely: in which areas, how and to what extent did in particular the most important representatives of the Czech musicians in Slovenia contribute? The numerous Czech musicians working in Slovenia in the 19th and early 20th century actively co-created practically all areas of musical culture in Slovenia. Through their acti- vities they decisively influenced the musical-creative, musical-reproductive, musical-peda- gogical and musical-publicist areas, and strongly influenced the transition from a more or less musically inspired dilettantism to a gradual rise in terms of quality and quantity of musical culture in Slovenia. Those well-educated Czech musicians brought to Slovenia the creative achievements of musical culture in Czech lands. Taking into account the prevalent role of Czech musicians in Slovenia, there arises the question whether – with regard to the period in question – it might be at all reasonable to speak of “Slovenian Music History” or better to talk about “History of Music in Slovenia”. It is quite understandable that differences exist between music of different provenances; individual musical works are therefore not only distinguished by their chronological sequence and related changes in style, but also by different geographic or sociological (class, cultural, and even ethnic) backgrounds.1 Yet the clarity of these characteristics varies, for they cannot be perceived in precisely the same way or observed with the same degree of reliability in a musical work.2 In this respect, the national component causes considerable difficulties.

    SLOVENIA COUNTRY PROFILE UNITED NATIONS INTRODUCTION - 2002 COUNTRY PROFILES SERIES Agenda 21, adopted at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, underscored the important role that States play in the implementation of the Agenda at the national level. It recommended that States consider preparing national reports and communicating the information therein to the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) including, activities they undertake to implement Agenda 21, the obstacles and challenges they confront, and other environment and development issues they find relevant. As a result, in 1993 governments began preparing national reports for submission to the CSD. After two years of following this practice, the CSD decided that a summarized version of national reports submitted thus far would be useful. Subsequently, the CSD Secretariat published the first Country Profiles series in 1997 on the occasion of the five-year review of the Earth Summit (Rio + 5). The series summarized, on a country-by-country basis, all the national reports submitted between 1994 and 1996. Each Profile covered the status of all Agenda 21 chapters. The purpose of Country Profiles is to: · Help countries monitor their own progress; · Share experiences and information with others; and · Serve as institutional memory to track and record national actions undertaken to implement Agenda 21.     HOW THE CULTURE OF THE SLOVENE EMIGRANTS WAS RECEIVED IN SLOVENIA Aleš Gabrič COBISS 1.02 The cultural and political attitude adopted by the communist regime with regard to the cultural creativity of the Slovene emigration can be, in general, divided into two periods and into two particular ways in which the regime limited the extent to which the cultural public at home was informed of the work of the Slovene immigrant writ­ ers and artists. To begin with, purges were carried out in the cultural institutions immediately after the end of the Second World War, during which those works of art were taken out of the storage areas, which were created by the artists before WorldWar II or during it, i.e. up until the spring of 1945, when they were forced to retreat from Slovenia before the oncoming victorious Partisan army. The leaders of the Liberation Front already gave clear indication oftheir intent to eliminate certain works ofart in the plans fonnulated at the time of the most urgent measures to be taken upon seizing power. This plan was most explicitly revealed in an expert's detailed report in April, 1945, signed by Ferdo Kozak, who became the firstpost-war Slovene minister of education and culture in May, 1945. In his plan, Kozak placed particular emphasis on the problem ofbook publication, yet contextually, his proposal can be understood as applying to the cultural heritage of Slovenia in its entirety. Today, museums are visited by millions of people and could therefore be compared with sports events. The most numerous museum visitors are the young who purposefully visit exhibitions and participate in special activities organised by museums. In the last 50 years museums have increasingly focused on young people, especially preschool children. New museums targeting children are emerging as well, with their own economic mindset and goals. But new museums also open as the role of tourism and its special offering become more sophisticated. Today, museums welcome individuals and groups interested in learning something new, unusual and different. School children come to build up their knowledge and broaden their horizons through museum exhibitions. A mere reflection of everyday life that museums offer can draw people to a museum. Defining "Balkan Slavic" The failure of the Yugoslav idea made obvious by the collapse of Yugoslavia posed the issue of developing new paradigms by which the literary and cultural legacy of the Southern Slavs can be discussed adequately in a political context now transformed.
