    Translation from Romanian We are the Gugulan Country Task Force authorized by AM MADR Romania in accordance with the Approved Note no. 233557, 01.11.2017, located in the commune of Glimboca, at no. 405, Caraș-Severin county. L.A.G. (local action group) Gugulan Country covers a homogeneous territory of 2,291.46 km² with a population of 51,827 inhabitants and operates in the western part of Romania in the mountain area, on the administrative territories of 16 communes and a town (Oţelu Roşu) in the county of Caraș- Severin and a commune in Timiș county located on the roads E70, DN58 and DN68. The main objectives foreseen to be achieved as a result of the implementation of LEADER in accordance with the E.U. regulation 1305/ 2013 are as follows: • Stimulating innovation; • Strengthening local identity and local profile; • Improving the quality of life and attractiveness of the local area; • Solving demographic problems; • Creating and retaining jobs in the LEADER areas; • Improving equal opportunities for young people, women, elderly people, people with disabilities and members of minorities; • Increasing competitiveness on the local level; • Conservation of resources and protection of the natural environment, by applying an integrated and multispectral approach. There are 3 reservations on the territory of the micro-region: in the Păltiniş commune - the natural reserve Delineşti fountain (4ha), the Armeniș commune - the bison reservation on the Plopu Valley and the Criciova commune - the private reserve of deer and wild boars (in Jdioara). Of the 18 administrative units, 16 municipalities are located in areas with high natural value (HNV), and 15 NATURA 2000 are located on the territory of 15 communes.

ABSTRACT The paper presents an inventory and distribution of invasive alien species, in “Iron Gates” Natural Park, especially to highlight their origins, the most aggressive alien species, and their impact on conservation status of habitats, and indirectly their economic and sociological impact on the human communities. This study may have an important role in improving the efficiency of conservation measures, offering valuable information to authorities involved in protected areas administration. RESUMEN: Orígen geográfico de las especies invasoras en el Parque Natural “Puertas de Hierro” (Banat, Rumania). En este trabajo se presenta un inventario de las especies invasoras y su distribución espacial en el Parque Nacional Puertas de Hierro, con el fin de establecer su origen geográfico, de identificar a las más agresivas así como también de establecer qué impacto tienen tanto en el estado de conservación de los hábitats del parque como en los aspectos socioeconómicos de las comunidades humanas que habitan el lugar.

    Almăjana 65 [VALEA ALMĂJULUI] „Valea Almăjului a fost şi rămâne una dintre zonele cele mai mândre ale românilor, unde datinile şi obiceiurile sunt la ele acasă. Existenţa umană în inegalabilul areal se întinde pe mii de ani, aşa cum atestă arheologii. Legenda spune că, la început, era un lac mare, iar, când stăpânul acestor locuri şi‑a căsătorit fiica, voiajul de nuntă a fost cu barca pe lac, cu vin şi lăutari. Din prea multă veselie ori fiindcă s‑a rupt gheaţa, barca s‑a răsturnat şi mirii s‑au dus la fund. Ca să îi găsească, tatăl miresei a poruncit să fie secat lacul şi, astfel, săpându‑se văi adânci de scurgere, uscatul a luat locul apei. Nu ştiu dacă nefericiţii miri au fost găsiţi, dar, mai apoi, valea a devenit leagănul a mii şi mii de alte căsătorii, generaţii întregi de oameni dând culoare şi sunet acestor ţinuturi minunate. Semenicul veghează de la distanţă liniştea almăjenilor. Prin Nergana şi Nergăniţa, cele două surori ale Babei Dochia, transformate în stânci, apoi în izvoare, el trimite cele mai frumoase balade şi legende, peştii cei jucăuşi şi apa cristalină, dătătoare de speranţă şi viaţă. Feciorii încearcă să imite mersul şerpuitor al Nerei, cu vârtejurile şi învolburările sale, prin brâurile şi poşovăicile ce le joacă de sărbători. Aceşti feţi‑frumoşi, îmbrăcaţi cu laibăr şi obiele, precum moşii lor, de mână cu mândrele cosânzene ce‑şi poartă cu fală catrinţa ori ciupagul înflorat, îţi dau impresia că eşti într‑un peisaj de basm.” IOSIF BADESCU, Cum am devenit medic, Editura Excelsior Art, Timişoara, 2013, p.

Mirela MINICĂ University “Eftimie Murgu” of Reşiţa Faculty of Economics [email protected] Abstract The article presents the main characteristics of rural tourism, the premises for its apparition and development, the components of the rural touristic product and of this activity’s management, proposing also a 7-day tour product entitled “Holiday in the Mountainous Banat”. Key words: rural tourism, touristic product, brand, local policies. 1. Introduction The touristic activities represent a factor of fast local and regional economic development due to the preponderance of SMEs in this field. For the mountain rural areas situated near powerful urban economic centres (within 50-100 kms), tourism represents a prominent factor for creating and securing jobs. Grace to the effect of economic multiplication, tourism is a multi-valent domain, the touristic services providing imposing the carrying on of a multitude of economic activities: accommodation, food supply, recreation, transport. Moreover, touristic activities have a strong triggering effect upon the development of retail, both at the destination area and along the touristic flows. 2. Rural tourism Rural tourism is carried on in relatively unpolluted unperturbed areas, inhabited by traditional communities, satisfying a set of needs: • The need for “evasion” in order to reduce the stress condition, being accompanied by an active or passive participation in the deployment of touristic activities; • The need for health maintaining or recovery; • The need for belonging and affection; • The need for knowledge and education; • The need related to the desire to visit relatives and friends; • The need for beauty and novelty, etc.

So, the development of these forms of tourism is required in the rural area, both economically and socially. Known as an important ethnographic area of the country, with traditional elements specific, Almaj Valley through natural and cultural potential available, it stands more and more lately by intensifying rural tourist and ecotourist activity. However, tourist infrastructure is very underdeveloped, to rural communities returning the mission to get more involved in this purpose, having in view, the national and international recognition of the high tourism potential of this area Romanian area still retains, quite well, the traditional, cultural, ethnographic and folklore valences specific to rural areas, providing favorable conditions for development of rural tourism and agrotourism. Romanian villages have a rich tourist potential, having diversified tourist resources: traditions, customs and folk values, cultural monuments, historical and art and an unpolluted natural environment with a rich natural tourism potential. Almajului Depression known as well as the Almaj Country, Almajului Valley or Bozovici Depression is situated in the South-East side of Banat Mountains, in the south of Caras-Severin county, near the Parallel 45°, being an intramountainous depression, of ellipsoidal form of NE-SW orientation, belonging to Nera basin.

In this area tourists have the opportunity to visit natural and historical monuments, such as: Big Boilers, Small Boilers, Tabula Traiana, Decebal's Bust, Mraconia Monastery, Tri Kule Ruins and the Mraconia Tourist Complex. Key words: tourist potential, tourism, tourists, Danube Gorge INTRODUCTION The trip through the Mountain Banat is not fulfilled without visiting, on land or on the water the Danube Gorge, the most spectacular defile of the river. After beauty, if we were to look for a second attribute of Gorge, it would be diversity, from geographic and geological to historical, ethnic, religious and cultural. [9] The natural tourism potential of the Danube Gorge, meaning "the totality of the physical and geographic elements from a territory that have the capacity to attract potential tourists" and which "by partially or totally combining the dominant features of the natural environment elements outlines quantitative and qualitative appreciations on the natural potential of a territory", is very rich.
