Let this feast inspire us to think about our own baptism and renew our own commitment to the faith that we are practicing. May this feast also encourage us to think about new ways by which we can enhance the practice of our faith in the church, society, and the family where we live. The past week was an exceptional week with lots of things that happened. First, I would like to talk about REACH. Last Sunday, REACH had a guest speaker guest from Filling in the Blanks, Holly Ken- nedy. She spoke to our parents and children about the importance of finding a means to support the kids in our neighborhood who do not have enough food to eat. It was a great moment for our parents and children to listen and find ways to support those children in our area. It is great news that more than 50 of our family members are going to Filling in the Blanks this weekend. They will be organizing and packing food items for an upcoming distribution. Thank you to Mark and the REACH team who enormously support our endeavors with the new religious education program. Another thing that we have to think about is the pageant that we had last weekend. It was a great time to be with our children and families and to have the Epiphany pageant. However, it was disappointing that we have experienced declining participation levels of our children both in Christmas pageant and other activities that we have. On another note, our Emmaus teen retreat that usually takes place in January will be cancelled this year because of the lack of candidates. We will have to regroup and consider the future of our Em- maus program. Let me tell you this. The church is going through a difficult time, and we are experiencing it in different levels. Not to worry, the church is Jesus's church. He has his own plans. It has gone through ups and downs in the history, and after all these turbulences we are currently experiencing in the church, we will be a wonderful church, a church with a new vision and mission for the future. So, let us pray for God's will, that it will be made clear and visible for our leaders, and also the people who are actively involved in the ministry. Let me conclude this by reminding all of you of the need for active involvement in all the church activi- ties. We have many ways to volunteer at our church. We are open to your ideas to consider starting new groups or practices in our church. We ultimately want to help our church grow with your support and active involvement. Let us continue our prayers and may our loving God strengthen and pave the way for the renewal of our mother, the Holy Catholic Church. Lovingly ~ Fr. Rojin
