Joint PJ03a & PJ03b Validation Invitation to the Open Day Friday 22nd February, 2019 BULATSA Area Control Centre Sofia, Bulgaria Company General Use SESAR PJ03a & PJ03b Joint Validation Open Day 22nd February 2019 You are warmly invited to attend a one-day demonstration session dedicated to the validation activities jointly performed LEONARDO and BULATSA in the context of SESAR projects PJ03a and PJ03b. The open day will include a demonstration of new functionalities and tools developed on the LEONARDO ground platform, and validated by BULATSA ATCO personnel in the context of Integrated Surface Management and Airport Safety Nets, such as: New strip-less controllers working position; Automated surface routing computation in high density of traffic; Vehicle data-link communication and TOW procedure; New Conformance Monitoring (CMAC) and Conflicting Clearance (CATC) alerts. The open day will also give an outlook to future R&D activities envisaged for SESAR Wave 2. BULATSA is served by public buses and is at about 10 min walk from taxi stands and the underground stop located in front of Terminal 2 building. This is described further down in this document. Company General Use Transport Information Metro The metro station at Sofia Airport is in the eastern part of Terminal 2. Sofia Metro Line 1 connects Sofia Airport to the city centre and provides direct connection from the airport to the large residential complexes in close proximity. The underground stop near BULATSA is “Sofia Airport” (10 - 15 min walk from BULATSA facilities). Gurko Str.) with Sofia Airport Terminal 2 and next Temrinal 1. Bus route № 184 connects the city centre (Gen. Gurko Str.) with Sofia Airport Terminal 1 and next Terminal 2. Then they go back along Christopher Columbus Blvd. – Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd. to Gen. Gurko Str. Tickets, fares, working hours and luggage At Sofia Airport you can buy daily, weekly or monthly travel cards, tickets or packs of 10 tickets (which need to be punched in the machine inside) at the kiosks of Urban Mobility Center or at Razprostranenie na Pechata (RP) in the public areas of Terminal 2, as well as from a ticket vending machine, installed at Terminal 1 Arrivals public area. The machine works with Bulgarian banknotes (levs) and coins and the issued tickets are valid for bus lines 84,184 and 384. Ticket machines for metro tickets are located at Sofia Airport Metro Station. They also accept banknotes (levs) and coins, and one of them accepts credit cards as well. Important: Passengers with regular transport documents can carry up to 2 pieces of hand luggage, with a total of length, height and width for each one not exceeding 140 cm. Luggage with dimensions exceeding the specified ones must be charged with an additional ticket. Regular one-way ticket price is 1.60 leva. You can purchase 10 journeys for 12 lv. The bus tickets are only valid for the journey on that particular bus. Fines for not having ticket are payable on the spot. Sofia’s public transport starts around 05:00 and runs till midnight, depending on a particular schedule. Taxi The only taxi company authorized to operate at Sofia Airport is ‘OK Supertrans’. The price for transportation from the airport to the city centre is between 10 and 20 leva (5-10 Euros) depending on the particular destination.
