“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein. Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? Therefore we are buried with Him by into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life” (Rom. 6:1-4).

BIBLE WORDS

Iconolatry

Iconolatry is the use of (images, pictures, and other physical representations), to aid in the worship of God. It is a type of worship used by the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches as a representation of Christ. The claim is that while the worship belongs to Christ, because He is represented by the it is proper to venerate it. However, according to Scripture, this type of worship is not only unacceptable to the Lord, but He has strictly forbidden it (see Ex. 20:3-5; Deut. 5:6-9). Iconolatry is simply a form of and should note be practiced in any

“Ideology”

Ideology is the combined body of concepts, or beliefs, about nature, human life and culture that motivate a person’s thinking and therefore their actions. Just as everyone has a theological system of some kind, everyone has an ideology of life built on their theological concepts by which they live, even when some of those concepts contradict each other. The ideology of the “Post Modern” culture that has developed in the USA today seems to be a blend of Cosmic Humanism and Hedonism with a spoonful of Nihilism added and then coated with Panentheism, sprinkled with Political Correctness, baked in the oven of Tolerance, and then served with a side of Deism.

When closely scrutinized, any theology, ideology, or worldview that is not based squarely on God’s Word, the Bible, in its entirety, will be found wanting because it will minimize God and reject His sovereign authority as Creator and exalt man and maximize his autonomy, especially in matters of faith, ethics, and morals. Post-modernism has given rise to a belief system, or more accurately, a non-belief system that has come to be known as “Ietsism.” Many today, especially in Western Europe and North America have embraced, in part or in whole, the concepts of Ietsism and the Ideology spawned by it.
