Oakwood Gate OAKWOOD GATE BAMPTON CALA HO ME S Local area photography OAKWOOD GATE MODERN FAMILY LIVING MEETS PERIOD COUNTRY CHARM The picturesque and rather familiar period-drama setting of Bampton village provides the inspiration for Oakwood Gate. Our development of 96, three, four and five bedroom semi-detached and detached homes brings the joy of contemporary CALA living to the simply beautiful Cotswold countryside. Full of clever design, quality specification and flexible living spaces, each of these homes perfectly blends modern style with the traditional character of its ‘Downton Abbey’ surroundings. Also enjoying many local amenities and good schools, together with Witney and Oxford conveniently close by, Oakwood Gate is a haven for growing families, downsizers and country-loving commuters alike. Local area photography Local area photography of Witney Photography of Spring Meadow, Witney BAMPTON BRIMMING WITH BEAUTY AND CHARACTER One of Oxfordshire’s oldest and prettiest villages, Bampton was a late Anglo-Saxon centre which enjoyed prosperity through wool production. Displaying 17th and 18th century buildings and an Italianate town hall, Bampton is now recognised the world over as the fictional village of ‘Downton’, using the Old Grammar School, St Mary’s Church and Church Gate House as film locations. The famous village is a hive of activity with lots of amenities and cultural events. Relaxed cafés and bistros are just a short stroll away, while for the more energetic, Bampton Recreation Ground and Pavilion provides extensive sports facilities and a trim-trail, situated next to the natural beauty of Millennium Wood. Nearby Witney is home to a wonderful array of shops, boutiques and cafés, as well as a cinema. Or you can broaden your choice further in Oxford and enjoy all of its historic landmarks. The Witney Lakes Resort offers an exclusive 18-hole golf course, plus superb gym and spa facilities, while the sailing club at Standlake is a picturesque setting for a range of watersports. By contrast, have a great day out at Cotswold Wildlife Park, approximately 7 miles away, or take in the regal splendour of Blenheim Palace just to the north. Finally, for education look no further than Bampton CofE and Aston Primaries, as well as Carterton Community College, The Henry Box School, King’s School Witney, Cokethorpe School and Burford School. Local area photography Local area photography WELL-CONNECTED COUNTRY LIVING Oakwood Gate is surrounded by miles of open countryside, yet enjoys great links in every direction. With the A40 close by and junction 9 of the M40 approximately 22 miles away, Bampton is well-placed for Oxford and London, as well as commuting to Banbury, Bicester, Cirencester, Cheltenham or Swindon. Combe and Hanborough train stations are nearby, with Hanborough offering regular services to Oxford in around nine minutes and London Paddington in just over an hour. Furthermore, Photography of Oxford Oxford and Didcot mainline stations offer direct services to London Paddington and London Marylebone. There are also connections to London Heathrow, which along with Birmingham International Airport, is equidistant from Bampton at around 61 miles. Photography of Bicester Village Journey times taken from www.thetrainline.com AN IMPECCABLE PEDIGREE It’s a shared passion for craftsmanship, architectural heritage and innovative design that encourages our architects and designers to continuously set the industry standard. With external finishes inspired by and sympathetic to their surroundings, you’ll find just as much character and personality on the inside. Generous flowing spaces draw you in and the finish and specification contain many unexpected touches that will make your life that little bit easier. Whether you’re bringing everyone together or simply prefer some peace and quiet, CALA homes have all the quality specification, flexibility and clever storage to reflect your contemporary lifestyle. Congratulations are also due to Simon Hi1Is and Keith Halsey for two weU-deserved Flying Scholarships, and to David Eccles on bis Army Scholarship. Various improvements have been instigated, and in some cases completed, around the schooI. Tbe Courtroom has been redecorated, and may soon be slightly adapted to serve as apart-time theatre, to satisfy the growing interest in drama in the schooI. Tbe Music School has had carpeting installed, which, I am told, will improve the acoustics, while the pavillon on Upper Field has been given a facelift. Tbe Boarding Houses have not been neglected, however: showers are being built on to Glyndowr, while at Waste Court, parts of the house have been redecorated. Meanwhile, the new Dining Hall is progressing weil: although the roof is not yet on, the builders have started some of the indoar plastering, tTUsting in the good weather. It should be finished and ready for use by Christmas. Many other minor repairs and improvements have been made, too many to mention, far which we must thank the Bursar's vigilant eye. Speakers mM laid on a one-day conference in the school for Sixth-Formers interested in computers.

HANBOROUGH GATE Long Hanborough, Oxfordshire Made for life. Join our legacy. Since 1927, Pye Homes has always taken the same pride in the homes and communities we have built in Oxfordshire. Although many things have changed in that time, our values have stayed the same, because so much of what was true then is still true today. We always take the same care in how we build, because that care ensures that your home is built to last. It means that everything about your home is perfectly placed, from the moment we lay the foundations, to the moment we open your door to show you around. By combining the best innovations in design and materials which have stood the test of time, we build in harmony with nature and the local legacy, so that new homes simply belong as part of a community, right from the start. It means always giving the same kind of personal care and integrity that our founder Jack Pye would recognise and be proud to acknowledge with his famous handshake. Those values, and that same regard for legacy, has led us to join with Blenheim and to make our commitment to their Legacy Principles. Together we share a desire for progress alongside a deep-rooted sense of place and enduring connection to our neighbours and local communities. Pye Homes. Made for life. 2 3 “Unlike many new developments, Hanborough Gate has been thoughtfully designed with plenty of green spaces and a feeling of openness which was important to us. It is also in a wonderful location being close to numerous walks through villages, woods and along the riverside.
