Box 207333, New Haven, CT 06520 http://alliancefrancaisenewhaven.org/ A non-profit organization promoting French language and culture Nous remercions la famille Chauvot Notre famille a été très heureuse de recevoir trois merveilleux jeunes étudiants français chez nous le mois dernier. Emma LeBeau, Maximilien Picquart and Guillaume Venegas (voir photo ci-jointe) se sont qualifiés pour l'événement World Scholars Cup à Yale, après leurs tours de qualifications à Chartres, Barcelone et La Haye. Seule délégation représentant la France, ils ont gagné 18 médailles durant 5 jours d'examens et de débats lors de cette compétition intensive, contre plus de 600 autres équipes venant de partout dans le monde. Trois jeunes très sympathiques et intelligents. Ce fut une joie pour notre famille de faire leur connaissance et de partager cette expérience avec eux. Nous nous rencontrons à Maison Mathis (304 Elm St., New Haven) à 18h30 pour discuter d'un roman chaque mois. On discute des thèmes et des idées dans les romans avec le groupe. Enjoy some homemade dessert crêpes (orange marmalade and chocolate). You may bring your own version of crêpes to share with others. La Chandeleur is known as crêpes day and generations have kept alive a variety of traditions and customs around the making of crêpes. French Beginner 101 Professor Yvonne Kolodny will teach this class Tuesdays, February 25, to May 5, 2020 from 5:45 to 7:45 pm. This class is for Beginners. French Beginner 102 Professor Yvonne Kolodny will teach this class Mondays from February 24, to April 27, 2020 from 5:45- 7:45pm. French Beginner 103 Professor Yvonne Kolodny will teach this class Thursdays, starting February 27, 2020 for ten weeks from 5:45- 7:45 pm. This class is for students who have completed French 102 or who place into this level. It will be taught partly in French. French Intermediate /Advanced French born Professor Jacqueline Munk will teach this class Wednesdays, starting February 26, 2020 for ten weeks ending April 29, 2020 from 6 - 8 PM. This class is for students who have completed French 103 or who place into this level. It will be taught primarily in French. In this course, we will concentrate mainly on the conversational aspect of the language. Our goal is to have you easily express yourself on various topics du jour, incorporating correct grammar as much as possible. All classes will be held at the Bethesda Lutheran Church classroom at 305 St. Ronan St., New Haven. For more information, please see syllabus or contact Professor Munk at 203-710- 9926.
