I secured the first BBC interviews with British-Kurdish fighters in Syria during the siege of Kobani in 2014, and was one of the first journalists to interview Julian Assange of Wikileaks in 2007. I’ve field-produced around the UK and the world with many dierent presenters and reporters, from Bridget Kendall to Brian Hanrahan to Clare Balding. Recently I devised and produced a Radio 4 The World this Weekend special from Turkey with presenter Mark Mardell. In five days, from a standing start, we made a half-hour Radio 4 documentary speaking to Syrian refugees in the unocial camps, tracing the people-smugglers who arrange the lethal crossings of the Aegean Sea, and visiting the home of a family who lost 13 members when their ship sank on the voyage to Europe. I also took photos and made an audio slideshow of the piece. I've produced long-form documentaries for Radio 4 and the World Service. Responsible for popular slots on the PM programme including the PM Privacy Commission and Upshares Downshares, a regular series charting the financial crisis. I was the ‘Blog Tsar’ for PM , managing social media for the programme -- which won Gold in the Interactive Programme category at the Sony Radio Academy Awards. And I was one of the small team who devised and launched iPM , an interactive Radio 4 programme presented by Eddie Mair which I subsequently produced and output-edited, also regularly blogging as an online face of the programme. PROJECTS & INTERESTS Currently interested in developing VR projects combining volumetric video capture (holography), photogram- metry and stereoscopic 360 video. I helped install a VR exhibition at the ArtScience Museum and I'm working on an experimental project with local researchers documenting Singapore's Hawker Centres. Developing a short documentary about deep learning and artificial intelligence. I've completed a number of online MOOCs including Stanford University’s online Machine Learning course, and I enjoy playing around with neural networks and datasets in my free time. I've made narrative films and music videos under the name Pi Delta Pi (π∆π). Most recently I produced, edited, co-wrote and co-directed a 30-minute film Maniac Nerd (2017). I’ve self-studied Mandarin Chinese for several years, and speak and read at an intermediate level. I've documented (solo shoot-edits) art performances and exhibitions, including a gallery event at Frieze Art Fair and a John Cage performance at Café Oto, London. Started a small comics publishing company (Typocrat Press) in 2005. Our graphic novel 676 Apparitions of Killoer was nominated for ‘Best Translated Work’ at the Angouleme International Comics Festival. I co-organised the Creative Commons UK film competition "Mix & Mash" in 2007 in association with Google UK, the Arts Council England, Shooting People, OpenBusiness, the British Film Institute and the Telegraph.
