KEITH NEWTON, 33° CLASS Special points We look forward to welcoming new members to the Valley of Steubenville! Our Fall Reunion will be held on November 16, 2019. We will be portraying the 32° and Let There Be Light. Registration will begin at 10 of interest: a.m. with coffee & doughnuts The Valley encourages everyone to try and invite potential new members to join us for this joyous occasion and become part of our Scottish Rite family. The class will be named in honor of MW · Fall Reunion Keith Newton. Keith Newton was born in McKeesport, PA, on November 12, 1961 to the late Laura Lynne Newton and W. Robert Newton. He comes from a masonic family; his mother was a Past Worthy Matron, Order · 33° Elect of Eastern Star and his father is a Past Master of Aliquippa Lodge #375. Keith lived most of his school years in Port Vue, PA where he was active in sports, music and DeMolay. He served several offices in DeMolay before · becoming Master Councilor of McKeesport Chapter Order of DeMolay in 1976. Keith attended South Allegheny Scottish Rite High School, graduating in June of 1980. Upon graduation, he attended Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics Experience Nights earning an Associate Degree and an Airframe and Powerplant license. Keith enjoys motorcycling, hunting, shooting, and rocking chair time with a good cigar overlooking the mountains or beach. Most Worshipful · Secretary’s Message Brother Newton is a member of Wilmington Lodge #52 in the “Super” 8th Masonic District, serving his Lodge as Worshipful Master in 2001-02 and 2006-07, and currently serves as Treasurer. He is an Honorary Member of several lodges across our great jurisdiction. Other Masonic affiliations include the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, honored to receive the Thirty-Third Degree on August 27, 2019. MWB Newton is serving the Neil and Willa Jean Smalley Children’s Dyslexia Center Board of Governors in Dayton, a member of Antioch Shrine and Washington Shrine Club and a Lifetime member of the AASR Valley of Cincinnati. York Rite memberships include Wilmington Chapter #63 Royal Arch Masons, Wilmington Council #116 Royal & Select Masons, Wilmington Commandery #37 Knight Masons, Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine, Irish Council #67 Knight Masons, and Royal Order of Scotland. MWB Newton is also a member of Miami Chapter #107 Order of Eastern Star, Ormus Grotto – Past Monarch, High Twelve Club, National Sojourners, Past Master Councilor and Legion of Honor-Order of DeMolay, and rides with the Freemason Riders and Sons of Tyre Widows Sons. MWB Newton has served the Grand Lodge of Ohio as District Deputy Grand Master from 2008-2011. He was appointed in 2012 by MWB James F. Easterling Jr. as Junior Grand Deacon of the Grand Lodge of Ohio. He was subsequently appointed as Senior Grand Deacon, Grand Marshal and Grand Orator. He was elected Junior Grand Warden in Sandusky in 2016, Senior Grand Warden in Dayton in 2017, Deputy Grand Master at Sandusky in 2018 and honored to be elected to serve the Brethren of the great State of Ohio as Grand Master, installed in Marietta on October 19, 2019. Our new 33 Elects are now our most recent Illustrious 33rds. Brothers Brian Breyer and Roger Givens both have told me what a great experience they and their wives had in Milwaukee. Their cap and jewel presentation will be Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Masonic Temple. We have scheduled Scottish Rite Experiences in 4 locations please see schedule in this newsletter. Please take some time to support the Rite and your brothers.
