Mussolini himself had chosen the theme for the conference and major Italian political figures, such as De Vecchi and Balbo, delivered papers, together with French, English and German politicians and scholars. The con- ference, organized in the same year of Hitler’s visit to Italy and of the introduction of the new racial laws, could have offered the cultural justification for a foreign policy alternative to the German turn taken by the regime. Only Mussolini’s last minute decision not to attend trans- formed the Convegno Volta on Africa from a potential alternative foreign policy into a forum where the dissenting voices within the regime voiced their opposition to German style racism. In authoritarian and totalitarian regimes, where the political power can dic- tate the cultural agenda, the lack of synchronicity that characterizes these two different times can be a source of embarrassment for the political authorities, a space where the sudden turns of politics can reveal themselves as such. For this reason, the cultural events that a regime organizes to systematize its ideol- ogy can be invaluable ‘time machines’ for historians, who can look a these events to challenge the time frame produced by political authorities to legiti- mize their choices. -

Si ricostruisce la complessità della Bildung nel panorama pedagogico italiano: da Spaventa a Croce, Gentile, all’attualismo della Scuola palermitana e del pensiero cattolico, fino alla scuola romana e al neoidealismo. Da Spaventa a Croce L’incontro con la Bildung germanica 1, nella sua connotazione di Humanitäs-philosophie che coniuga in chiave speculativa l’etica con la bellezza e con la storia, assume, in Italia, una sua fisionomia post-romantica col neo-idealismo di Bertrando Spaventa (1817-1883) che rilegge Hegel e, di conseguenza, reinserisce in circolo non solo, come è noto, la stessa filosofia italiana la cui vitalità, a suo vedere, si era frantumata con il rogo di Bruno, ma lo stesso Hegel di cui accentua il ruolo decisivo nella storia della filosofia e, attraverso Hegel, permette il recupero di quella cittadella della ricerca disinteressata che è l’Università progettata da von Humboldt. È però altrettanto chiaro che se Spaventa rimette in moto l’attenzione per una filosofia di una terra per tante ragioni storiche combattuta dagli Italiani, ciò avviene sia per una ragione teoretica sia per una ragione contingente. -

XLI, n. 45): foglio che mai – occorre dirlo – aveva fatto mancare il suo sostegno al movimento fondato da Mussolini il 23 marzo 1919, prima, e poi al partito nato il 7 novembre del 1921: Il nostro giornale che ha seguito, con simpatia, con fiducia, con ammirazione fervida e sincera, il fascismo, fino dal suo sor- gere, ne celebra oggi la piena e assoluta vittoria con la più grande letizia e con la ferma sicurezza che esso saprà ottimamente ricostruire come efficacemente ha saputo compiere l’opera di santa demolizione. Alle Camice nere, al genio di Benito Mussolini – duce romanamente grande – l’Italia deve la sua salvezza e dovrà la sua rina- scita e il definitivo trionfo. I primi atti del nuovo Governo infondono un ritmo nuovo alla vita nazionale: il ritmo dei forti. Finalmente – dopo l’avvicendarsi di governi abulici, inerti, tentennanti, deboli – l’Italia – per merito di Vittorio Emanuele III – ha oggi alla sua testa un Uomo dal pugno di ferro e dalla mente superiore, un Uomo che è espressione pura e genui- na della nostra razza imperiale! Salutiamo in Benito Mussolini il continuatore dell’Italia di Vittorio Veneto; diamo a Benito Mussolini adesione piena, completa, entusiastica, incondizionata; stringiamoci concordi intorno al Fascismo trionfante: questo è il dovere di quanti hanno amore e rispetto per la Patria, affetto e devozione per il Sovrano: chi non sente questo dovere è un traditore. -

Epochal problems of philosophy of education, today. Technology, posthuman, neuroscience Franco Cambi Translation by Cosimo Di Bari 1. Identity and role of “philosophy of education” Philosophical reflection accompanies pedagogy since the time of Plato. And it has been its only and decisive guide for a long time. Nowadays, instead, philosophy redefined its role in pedagogy and started to play the part of criti- cal synthesis of educational knowledge and to orientate the educational pro- cesses in terms of rules. John Dewey explained this double role. In The sources of a science of education, published in 1929, the two mentioned aspects are clear: as a knowledge in itself pedagogy is a synthesis of various and different sciences that constantly develop and that have to be fixed as “sources”, na- mely bearing data which are more and more complex, essential and new; as a knowledge-to-act then pedagogy regulates itself on the base of education (or, today is better to say, on the base of educating/forming) and considers and reconsders it critically. Therefore pedagogy provides analyses of acting struc- tures and guidance ideals or models, developing a double reflective process: both ontological (about the object-education) and historical-regulative (with actual models). Pedagogical philosophy has increasingly developed its epo- chal nature and its critical and planning role on this two levels (epistemologi- cal-axiological and ontological-regulative). In this way pedagogical philoso- phy accompanies the all educational thinking/acting both as a shadow and a horizon-limit and there it forms itself as strong point which is never obsolete, but always legitimated and reintroduced. -

Suggestions and hypotheses Michele Corsi* Abstract To summarize this article with a single expression, we could enclose it in a lack, which has been widely argued on all its pages: the programming one. Moreover, there was a lack of planning and ability to predict for many institutions and most of the citizens. Or, still, there was often a failure to prevent, in order to remedy instead, and not always adequately. With a particular reference to Italy on these pages. The above-mentioned four limits or wounds are particularly serious for our country in this pandemic year. Furthermore, this pandemic caught everyone unprepared and inexperienced. And, then, too many people - I am referring to the Government here - sold themselves to a lot of virologists and various mass media exponents, etc., who have frequently ended up increasing the unease of a nation, which is exhausted at a sanitary, economical and psychological level, with an excess of self- representation and easy self-confidence, too. In particular, this text makes school and university and, therefore, those who attend them, from children to young people, its focal point. They are not considered as abstract entities, but embodied people still belonging to an Italy at high speed: from the rapidly increasing poor people in the Southern Italy, which has not progressed yet and is in a great difficulty, to a middle class who, far from being as the fundamental nerve centre of the Italian productive fabric in the last century, is being overcome by pockets of poverty, misery and unemployment on the other hand. -

Los arditi en la posGuerra se convirtieron en un violento Grupo político que suele relacionarse en la historioGrafía de manera unidireccional con el fascismo. El artículo demuestra una realidad mucho más compleja, centrándose en la trayectoria de Grupos antifascistas llamados Arditi del popolo , creados en reacción a la amenaza fascista. Se examinan las características de las mentalidades de los arditi durante la posGuerra italiana en el marco de las asociaciones de excombatientes, señalando concomitancias y puntos de ruptu ra entre aquellos ex- arditi que decidieron apoyar el fascismo, y aquellos que se convir tie - ron al antifascismo.
