SECTION 1 (i) Secondary admissions (normal point of entry at Year 7) The admission arrangements out ined 1ithin this section app y to chi dren starting in Year 7 for the first time in 2017/18. Where there are fe1er app icants than the PAN, a chi dren 1i be admitted un ess they can be offered a higher ranked preference. In the e,ent that the Schoo is o,ersubscribed, the admission authority 1i app y the fo o1ing o,ersubscription criteria in order of priority: 1. Looked after children and all previo sly looked after children. Other children measured by a straight ine on the map using P ymouth .ity .ounci ’s e ectronic mapping system1 – the shorter the distance, the higher the priority. We 1i make a decision on the basis of the circumstances of each case and in the best interests of the chi d concerned. This 1i inc ude taking account of the parent’s ,ie1s; information about the chi d’s academic, socia and emotiona de,e opment; 1here re e,ant, their medica history and the ,ie1s of a medica professiona ; 1hether they ha,e pre,ious y been educated out of their norma age group; and 1hether they may natura y ha,e fa en into a o1er age group if it 1ere not for being born premature y. Parents must not assume that the decision of one schoo 1i transfer 1ith the chi d to a different schoo as the decision rests 1ith the indi,idua admission authority.
