ABSTRACT Coleoptera from Parque Natural Serra da Enciña da Lastra (Galicia, northwest Iberian Peninsula). A check-list of 298 species of Coleoptera from Serra da Enciña da Lastra Natural Park (Galicia, northwest Iberian Peninsula) is reported. 16 species are recorded from Galicia the first time. Among them, we highlight the Carabidae Dixus capito capito Serville, 1821 and Acinopus picipes (Olivier, 1795), the Buprestidae Acmaeoderella cyanipennis (Lucas, 1846), Capnodis tenebrionis (Linné, 1761) and Anthaxia godeti Gory & Castelnau, 1839, as well as Boln. Asoc. esp. Ent., 38 (1-2): 91-130, 2014 92 FRANCISCO NOVOA et al. the Chrysomelidae Hypocassida subferruginea (Schrank, 1776). Due to the Mediterranean climate and vegetation, southern elements (19,7%) represent a slightly higher proportion than northern ones (18,1%). Iberian elements are quite abundant (20,4%), which is related with altitude, as we found many species considered typical of mountain areas, and with the high degree of conservation of this area. Key words: Coleoptera, Serra da Enciña da Lastra, Galicia, Iberian Peninsula, faunistics, biogeography. No Boln. Asoc. esp. Fig. 1: Map of the studied area and sampling locaties (see Appendix 1). The grid (2 km) corresponds with the UTM coordinates (PH square). Boln. Asoc. esp. Fig. 2: Families of coleoptera and number of species recorded, A: in this study from Serra da Enciña da Lastra; B: from Casaio (CHAPMAN & CHAMPION, 1907).

Wuppertal 53 158- 205 Wuppertal, 15.12.2000 Das Käfervorkommen im Burgholz - Untersuchungsaspekte von 1952 bis 1996 Wolfgang Kolbe Mit 1 Tabelle Abstract Since the beginning of the second part of the 20'h century systematic collections ofbeetles were made to investigate the forest populations of the Burgholz State Forest in Wuppertal and Solingen (Northrhine Westphalia, Germany). H.-U. TRIELE was the first, who studied comparatively the composition of animal communities - among other arthropods also the beetles- of 9 testareas in the Burgholz State Forest (1952/53). A new phase in exploration of Coleoptera starts 1969. Over a period of 25 years investigations were made to explore the Coleoptera. One aspect was the influence of the red ants (Formica polyctena) as enemies of carabids.- Very important apparatures to study the structure and dynamic of several populations are pitfall traps, ground photoeclectors and arboreal photoeclectors. Within the catched beetle species above all Staphylinidae, Curculionidae, Scolytidae und Rhizophagidae are in the centre of interest. Mitt. Arb.gem. Rhein. Abstract: The Nature Reserve „Hundsbachtal“ southwest of Gerolstein, Eifel moun- tains in Western Germany, has a large scree slope along an pleistocaene volcano and is a well known area for glacial relict species. During an excursion on 13th of April 2013 pitfall traps have been set most deeply in rubble that were collected two weeks later. Altogether 210 beetle species could be found, 24 in the pitfall traps, and eight of them exclusively with this method. Beyond the numerous cavernicolous beetles, many Choleva lederiana could be found for the first time in the Rhineland, further- more the scree slope typic staphylinid Leptusa simonii . As a recapture after fifty years in the Rhineland, Orthocerus clavicornis was found on gravel ground covered with lichens close to the mouth of the Hundsbach creek.

  • Phylogenetic Relationships and Distribution of the Rhizotrogini (Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae, Melolonthinae) in the West Mediterranean
Graellsia, 59(2-3): 443-455 (2003) PHYLOGENETIC RELATIONSHIPS AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE RHIZOTROGINI (COLEOPTERA, SCARABAEIDAE, MELOLONTHINAE) IN THE WEST MEDITERRANEAN Mª. M. Coca-Abia* ABSTRACT In this paper, the West Mediterranean genera of Rhizotrogini are reviewed. Two kinds of character sets are discussed: those relative to the external morphology of the adult and those of the male and female genitalia. Genera Amadotrogus Reitter, 1902; Amphimallina Reitter, 1905; Amphimallon Berthold, 1827; Geotrogus Guérin-Méneville, 1842; Monotropus Erichson, 1847; Pseudoapeterogyna Escalera, 1914 and Rhizotrogus Berthold, 1827 are analysed: to demonstrate the monophyly of this group of genera; to asses the realtionships of these taxa; to test species transferred from Rhizotrogus to Geotrogus and Monotropus, and to describe external morphological and male and female genitalic cha- racters which distinguish each genus. Phylogenetic analysis leads to the conclusion that this group of genera is monophyletic. However, nothing can be said about internal relationships of the genera, which remain in a basal polytomy. Some of the species tranferred from Rhizotrogus are considered to be a new genus Firminus. The genera Amphimallina and Pseudoapterogyna are synonymized with Amphimallon and Geotrogus respectively. Key words: Taxonomy, nomenclature, review, Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae, Melolonthinae, Rhizotrogini, Amadotrogus, Amphimallon, Rhizotrogus, Geotrogus, Pseudoapterogyna, Firminus, Mediterranean basin.
