NYU School of Law S e l f - Guided Tour Welcome to New York University School of Law. Founded in 1835, NYU Law has a record of academic excellence and national scholarly influence. We are delighted that you have decided to explore our law community. VANDERBILT HALL (40 Washington Square South) *Enter through courtyard on West Fourth Street/Washington Square South. First Floor Seryl and Charles Kushner Student Lounge—A student lounge that houses student lockers and mailboxes. Law Library—One of the most extensive collections in the country, includ- ing online computer research systems. Use your nametag to gain entry and temporary access to the Law Library. Tishman Auditorium—The auditorium can accommodate up to 450 peo- ple for special events, conferences, and the annual Law Revue show. Greenberg Lounge—Used for law school events and receptions; the walls are adorned with the portraits of the school’s past Deans. Second Floor Golding Lounge—Law student lounge. Coffee, bagels, sandwiches, bever- ages, etc. are sold on weekdays during the academic year. This lounge also has a terrace overlooking West Third Street and D’Agostino Hall. Classrooms—First-year and upper-level classes are held in these rooms. Room 208 is a smaller, seminar-style classroom. All classrooms in this building are fully wired for internet use. Bulletin Boards—Student organizations and administrative offices post information for the law school community about events, meetings, and academic matters. Third and Fourth Floors Faculty and administrative offices are located on these floors. RESIDENCE HALLS D’Agostino Hall(W. 3rd Street)/Mercer Hall(240 Mercer Street) Apartment style residence halls for both students and faculty. Also home to the law school’s journal offices, student organizations, moot court board, and student bar association. Although individual rooms are not available for visits, the law school’s Office of Residence Services is located in the lobby of Mercer Hall and is open to visitors. ** Please be sure that class is not in session or the private study rooms are not occupied before entering rooms. FURMAN HALL (245 Sullivan Street) First Floor Wilf Lobby—Directly inside the main entrance. A staircase to the Se- cond and Third Floors is at the far right of the Lobby. The hallway to the near right of the Welcome Desk leads to the elevators. Room 110—An example of a small, seminar-style classroom. Seminar- style classrooms can also be found on the Second and Third Floors. All classrooms in the building are fully wired for internet use. Frank J. Guarini, Sr. and Caroline L. Guarini Study Lounge—A quiet stu- dent study lounge. Part of the site was once the home of Edgar Allan Poe during the time he published his famous poem “The Raven.” Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz Student Café—Law student lounge. Cof- fee, sandwiches, and beverages are sold on weekdays during the aca- demic year. Second Floor The John Sexton Student Forum—Informal student meeting place/ lounge. Computer terminals with internet and printing access are availa- ble for students. There are three medium-sized classrooms and one large lecture class- room on this floor. Third Floor The John Sexton Student Forum Balcony—Overlooks the Sexton Student Forum on the Second Floor. Group Study Rooms—Available for use by student study groups. Room 312 is an example. Flex Seminar/Court Rooms—Flexible seminar classrooms that can be reconfigured for Lawyering, Clinical, or Moot Court exercises; Room 328 is an example. There are several small and medium-sized classrooms on this floor, as well as administrative offices, including the Hauser Global Law School Program. Fourth Floor Administrative Offices—Academic & Student Services (Room 474), Ca- reer Services (Room 440), Records & Registration, Student Affairs (Room 474), Student Financial Services (Suite 400), and the Public Interest Law Center (Room 430). Fifth and Sixth Floors The Jacob Fuchsberg Clinical Law Center is located on the fifth and sixth floors.
