Accomodation A JOINT WORKSHOP OF KERAMOS & THE LEVANTINE CERAMICS PROJECT Ceramic Wares of Turkey from the Archaic to the Roman eras (7th c. BCE – 6th c. CE) May 17-18, 2018 Ege University, Izmir The workshop will take place in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Letters (“Edebiyat Fakültesi” in Turkish) located in the main campus of Ege University. The conference hall is equipped with a computer, digital projector and microphones. We kindly ask the participants to bring their Power Point presentations (saved under participant’s full name) on a USB storage device or a CD and submit it during the registration. Accomodation: We will help booking rooms for only Ege University Guest House located in Bornova, approximately 500m distance away from the Conference Hall. A special price for accommodation has been offered for the participants of the conference. The reservations will be made with an economic risk; therefore any cancellation should be made at least one month before. For those who wish to stay in one of these places are asked to fill in the form below and send it to [email protected] by April 1, 2018. To see time schedule for Eshot busses please visit: http://www.eshot.gov.tr/en/Home IZBAN and Metro (subway): You have to use IZBAN Train to “Çiğli” direction and get off at “Halkapınar” station. Change your train and take a Metro train to Bornova, Evka 3 direction, and finally get off at Evka 3 station. The Guest House is not very far away from here. You can take a taxi in an easy way. In theoretical framework, the focus is on the new concepts and implementations developed in the urban transportation sector. The effective transportation systems regarding lower expenditures were handled according to the travel demands they serve. However, in general, the effectiveness of the modes is determined according to the economic parameters; mainly the conventional modes are discussed and the effectiveness of BRT systems and LRT systems are compared. A brief survey of the BRT (Bus Rapid Transportation) systems is handled to some extent. The design considerations and the results of the implemented examples are handled to constitute a guideline. The major public transportation modes of Izmir are discussed. A reserved bus-transportation system is designed in the case study stage. Meanwhile the reserved bus concept along the Inönü Street is not designed according to the existing proposals.

This Non-Technical Summary (NTS) document provides an overview of the proposed Project and presents a summary of relevant potential environmental and social issues and impacts related to the construction and operation of the proposed Buca Metro line Project (“Project”). Appropriate measures to mitigate the key adverse environmental and social impacts that may arise during construction and operation of the Project are also presented within this document. 2. The Project Summary The metro system in the City is presently primarily an above-ground metro system carrying 240,000 passengers daily presently, with 182 carriages and, a 20-kilometer network and 17 stations network. The existing system comprises one line which starts from Fahrettin Altay station in the southern part of the metropolitan area and runs towards the northeast to end at Evka-3 in Bornova. A 7 km extension from Narlidere station to Fahrettin Altay district which will be below ground is currently under construction. The proposed Buca Metro line is the third major expansion and the fifth phase of the Izmir Metro Network development. It comprises a 13.3 km long line with 11 stations, 6 km of depot tunnel, and a total indoor area of 80 thousand m2. The line will be an underground metro line with the stations and tunnel having an average depth between 30 to 45 meters below ground level.

Bu seçimlerde halkın çoğunluğunun oyunu alan taraf CHP içinden çıkan Celal Bayar ve Adnan Menderes’in liderliğini yaptığı Demokrat Parti(DP) olmuştur. Yine aynı seçmen, yerel seçimlerde de tarafını DP’den yana kullanmıştır. DP belediyeciliği daha çok, bir nevi unutulan ve hizmetlerin yeteri derecede gitmediği fakir semtlerde faaliyet göstermiştir. Bu durum, halk tarafından takdirle karşılanan hizmetlerinde önünü açmıştır. DP’nin İzmir’deki ilk belediye başkanı olan Rauf Onursal, halkçı anlayışla fakir semtlerin yol, su, elektrik gibi temel ihtiyaçlarını karşılamaya çalışmış ve kendi döneminde birçok projeye imza atmıştır. Bu projeler günümüzde bile halen varlığını gösteren projelerdir.Bunlar arasında en somut örnek Konak ve Eşrefpaşa yolunu birbirine bağlayan Varyant Yoludur. Rauf Onursal, milletvekili olup görevden ayrıldıktan sonra yerine gelen belediye başkanları da aynı anlayışla çalışsa da, Onursal kadar tartışmalı bir dönemleri olmamıştır. Bu çalışmada,1950-1954 yılları arası Rauf Onursal’ın İzmir Belediye Başkanlığı dönemi faaliyetleri ele alınmıştır. Dönemin basını, Demokrat İzmir, Anadolu, Yeni Asır gibi, Belediye Zabıtları, dönemin tanıklarının anlatımı ve temel literatür eserleri kaynak olarak kullanılmıştır.     İZMİR METRO A.Ş. STRATEJİK PLANI 2020-2024 ÖNSÖZ Sağlıklı ve yaşanabilir bir kent olan İzmir’e ve İzmirliye hizmet vermek için tüm gücünü ortaya koyan İzmir Metrosu, günden güne büyüyen ulaşım ağında; bugün itibariyle Metro ve Tramvay sistemi filosundaki toplam 220 araç ile 2000 yılından bu yana planlı, emniyetli, güvenilir, temiz, çağdaş, ucuz ve çevreye duyarlı ulaşım modeli sergilemektedir. Sahip olduğu TS-EN-ISO 9001:2015 Kalite Yönetim Sistemi, TS-EN-ISO 14001:2015 Çevre Yönetim Sistemi, TS-18001:2014 İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Yönetim Sistemi, TS-ISO 10002:2014 Müşteri Memnuniyeti ve Şikâyet Yönetim Sistemi ve TS-EN- ISO 50001 Enerji Yönetim Sistemi Standartları Belgeleri ile hizmet kalitesini tüm sistemlerinde iyileştirerek geliştirmeye devam etmektedir. Çağdaş kent ve kentli bilinci ile daha az enerji tüketilmesi, doğal kaynakların verimli kullanılması ve çevre kirliliğinin azaltılması için tüm faaliyetlerinde hassasiyetini sürdürmekte, Sürdürülebilir Toplu Taşımacılık İlkeleri doğrultusunda hareket etmektedir. 2011 yılında Uluslararası Toplu Taşımacılar Birliği-UITP ile imzalamış olduğu “Sürdürülebilir Gelişme Beyannamesi” bu çağdaş bilincin bir belgesidir. Araçlarımızda uygulanan “Tasarruflu Sürüş Tekniği” ile de İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nin, Sürdürülebilir Enerji Eylem Planı kapsamında karbondioksit salınımını 2020 yılına kadar yüzde 20 azaltma hedefine destek olmaktadır. İzmir Metrosu, 2013 yılında almaya hak kazandığı 3 yıldızlı Kırmızı Bayrak ile toplumun her bireyine eşit ulaşım hizmeti sağlayabilme anlayışıyla engelli vatandaşlarımızın hareket özgürlüğünü arttıracak, sosyal ve ekonomik hayata dahil olmalarını sağlayacak bir köprü olma misyonunu da belgelemektedir. Hayata geçirilen yeni projelerle sürekli büyümekte ve gelişmekte olan İzmir Metrosu, yapımı devam etmekte olan Fahrettin Altay- Narlıdere uzantısıyla 7 km daha uzayacaktır. Bir diğer proje de 11 km hat uzunluğundaki Tam Otomatik Sürücüsüz Buca–Üçyol projesidir.

INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES IN IZMIR DURING 1960’S Şenay Savur Abstract 1960s were the years that Izmir was restructured and changed its spatial meaning. In the whole city, roadworks started and asphalt activities began in all streets of Izmir. Along with the industrialization, phenomenon of mig- ration from village to city, squatting and as a result of those, growth in po- pulation, inadequacy of the infrastructure services became clear. In this article, the infrastructure services of the period is mentioned and the issue is limited to the center of the Izmir. The current situation and shortage of water, electricity, sewage, gas, road and postal services are revealed. Kentin bütününde yol çalışmaları başlamış, İzmir sokak- larında baştan sonra asfaltlama faaliyeti içine girilmişti. Sanayileşme, köy- den kente göç olgusu, gecekondulaşma ve bütün bunların beraberinde ge- len nüfus artışıyla birlikte altyapı hizmetlerinin yetersizliği de açıkça ortaya çıkmıştı. Bu makalede, dönemin alt yapı hizmetlerinden bahsedilmekte ve konu İz- mir merkez ile sınırlı tutulmaktadır. Su, elektrik, kanalizasyon, havagazı, yol ve posta hizmetlerinin mevcut durumları ve yetersizlikleri gözler önüne serilmektedir.
