Welcoming Our New Practice Manager & The Covid-19 Vaccine

A New Practice Manager

The partners of Prescott Surgery are delighted to inform you that a new Practice Manager will be joining the practice on Monday 15th March. Mrs Tracy Willocks has been appointed as Practice Manager. She was previously the Business Manager at Riverside Medical Practice in Shrewsbury. Mrs Willocks brings extensive experience to the role and will be supporting the Partners, other medical professionals and the staff at the surgery to deliver high standards of patient care.

Dr Guildford, the other GP Partners and the staff wish a warm welcome to Tracy in joining Prescott Surgery.

The Next Steps in the Vaccination Rollout

Following the JVCI recommendations set out in a list of nine priority groups, the next groups to be vaccinated will be groups 5 to 9.

65-year-olds and over 16- to 64-year-olds with serious underlying health conditions 60-year-olds and over 55-year-olds and over 50-year-olds and over

It is really important that if you were in groups 1 to 4 and have not yet received a vaccination then it is not too late to come forward.

The aim is to get all top 9-priority groups vaccinated by the end of April.

Some people may expect they will be within group 6 however may not qualify. For example people with asthma will only fall within group 6 if they have required con- tinuous or repeated use of systemic oral steroids or with previous exacerbations requiring hospital admission. You can find further information regarding health conditions included in group 6 online on the www.gov.uk website.

The NHS will contact you and invite you to book an appointment when it’s your turn. You may receive a phone call from your family doctor’s practice (GP) or local NHS service, however you may also receive a letter direct from NHS England. If your contact details have changed lately, now is a good time to make sure your GP practice has the most up to date information.

Please be patient and wait until it is your turn, you will be contacted. www.baschurchvillagenewsletter.com Page 11

The Second Vaccination Process

Most people will have received only a first dose, but a small number of the most elderly and vulnerable patients may have received a second dose if they had an appointment booked before the change in national guidance to move to second dose receipt at approximately 11-12 weeks.

It has come to our attention that a small number of over 80 year olds vaccinated at Prescott Shrewsbury Hospital back in December have not been informed by Shropshire Surgery Council of the date of their second dose - anyone in this situation can call Appointments: 0345 678 9011 to find this out. (This only applies to this small group - the majority 01939 260210 of people will be contacted by the surgery to offer them a second dose, and do not need to take any further action.)
