Summer of Events in Porto Montenegro Press Release Summer of Events In Porto Montenegro Wednesday May 28th 2014 – Porto Montenegro, the Adriatic’s leading superyacht marina, makes way for an infusion of culture this summer with a diverse series of exclusive events to entertain residents and visitors alike. From piano concertos, to a new nightclub, to foodie fairs and wine exhibitions, there’s something for everyone. Not to mention two world-class boat races and the much anticipated opening of the Regent Porto Montenegro Hotel & Residences on 1st August. For The Place to Stay A spectacular waterfront property comprising 35 hotel rooms and 51 residences, Porto Montenegro welcomes the much-anticipated Regent Porto Montenegro Hotel & Residences to its ever-evolving marina community. Softly opening on 1 July with the official opening on 1 August, the hotel will set a new standard for luxury hotel design in the Adriatic, representing a ground-breaking new addition to the region’s hospitality market. The hotel’s five star services include a fine dining restaurant, cigar lounge, library bar, signature spa and fitness centre, as well as both an indoor and outdoor pool. For The Place to Be Seen With an impressive overwater infinity pool, Porto Montenegro's new members-only pool club, Lido Mar, caters exclusively to Porto Montenegro homeowners, visiting VIPs, marina guests and hotel residents. Newly redesigned by Tino Zervudachi of MHZ in Paris, the Lido complex now features classic poolside dining alongside a menu of cocktails and a selection of 30 wines while Lido Pranzo, an informal daytime restaurant, is located at the foot of the Lido Mar pool. Lido Rooftop is a fine dining option open every evening that offers sunset views over the pool, and Scaramanga provides an intimate, luxurious Guest List only nightclub experience, all within the same building. For fashionistas, the first flagship boutique from luxury brand Misahara Jewelry recently opened its doors in Porto Montenegro Village, showcasing both classic and new collections. Each piece is hand made with one-of-a-kind, limited-edition elements. For The Wine Connoisseur Bringing together exhibitors from some of the finest wineries in Europe, the Superwine Festival promises to introduce more than 20 celebrated wines from around the world to Montenegro’s oenophile community. This event will take place on the 27 & 28 June within the Lido complex. For The Music Lover Having already conquered Carnegie Hall and New York’s Lincoln Centre; Lola Astanova’s Piano Concert (a virtuoso Russian-American pianist duo) in association with new event brand The Duke will be another highlight of the summer at Porto Montenegro. The performance will be held at The Naval Heritage Collection on 16 August. Later on in the season, on September 13, the Village will also host its inaugural Opera Festival in association with Operosa from Belgrade, Serbia. A performance of Charles Gounod’s “Romeo & Juliet” opera, led by acclaimed Maestro Eraldo Salmieri and supported by British designer Jamie Vartan and scenographer Simon Corder, will be the first of its kind in the area. For the Art Admirer Following a strong nautical theme, the ‘Afterglow’ Exhibition by Nicole Etienne, inspired by colours of daybreak and twilight, will be showcased at the Naval Heritage Collection Museum from 19 – 30 June. Following which, from 20 July to 10 August Zhong Biao – one of China’s most influential contemporary artists – introduces Montenegro to his works inspired by the rapidly changing face of modern China. For a more urban art experience, head down to the village on 9 & 10 August for The Duke’s Art Battle, which will see one of Europe’s leading street artists create a spontaneous artwork overnight. Also showing at the Naval Heritage Collection Museum (15 August – 7 September) is the ‘Constellations’ exhibit by Miljan Suknovic, a new large-scale painting exhibition by this New York-based artist. Suknovic’s vibrant paintings reflect his encounter with American culture, technology and his continuing exploration of creative abstraction. Additionally, opening in Porto Montenegro on 12 June is the new Mead Carney gallery that will feature pieces from world- renowned artists such as Damien Hirst alongside a selection of highly acclaimed emerging contemporary artists from around the world. For the Yachting Enthusiast The Inter-Club Match Race (6 – 8 June) will see many of the best teams in Europe competing and socialising in this friendly yet highly competitive event. Expect a weekend of high-octane yacht racing in the Bay of Kotor, one of the Mediterranean’s most idyllic sailing spots. The Arsenal Cup Weekend (12 & 13 July) is a popular annual regatta, attracting teams from across the region. This year, for the first time all classic format yachts are invited to race on Sunday, in addition to Saturday’s race, to compete for the Classics Cup. For the Foodie As summer draws to a close, Porto Montenegro will host its very first Porto Montenegro Food Festival in celebration of two anticipated restaurant openings, an exclusive new wine bar and a gourmet ice cream parlour. On 28 & 29 June, guests and residents will benefit from promotional menus and an offer in all of Porto Montenegro’s acclaimed restaurants.
