Recess Games – Now “Playing in the Snow” by Lindsay My favourite recess game is playing in the snow. I play in the snow with Emma. All you need is snow to play. We put our feet in the snow and fall down. It is a lot of fun! Recess Games – Then “Baseball” by Lindsay My Papa’s favourite recess game was baseball. To play baseball you need a bat, baseball, gloves, and bases. My papa played with his brothers and with his friends. Each team needs 9 players. You play with a bat and with friends. The pitcher throws the ball and you hit it with the bat and then run around the bases. My Papa liked the game because he could play with a bunch of kids at once. Recess Games – Now “Among Us” by Xander My favourite recess game is Among Us. I play Among Us with Scott, Lindsay, and Arya. You do not need equipment to play. The imposter tries to tag the crewmates to get them out of the game. I play it because I like it! Recess Games – Then “Football” by Xander My Dad’s favourite recess game was football. To play the game you need a football. You need 10 or more kids. To play football, two teams go against each other to score touchdowns. My Dad liked football because it allowed a lot of kids to play together. Recess Games – Now “Playing Tag” by Scott My favourite recess game is tag. I play tag with Mordecai and Xander. To play tag, you need your feet and your hands. To play tag you run away from the tagger and you try to tag other people. I like it because I like running. Recess Games – Then “Red Rover” by Scott My Mom’s favourite recess game was Red Rover. In Red Rover, there are two teams. You need at least 4 students per team. Each team forms a line, holding hands. The team lines face each other about 20 feet apart. One team swings their arms and sings “Red Rover, we call (name) over”. The chosen student from the other team would run over and try to break through the clasped hands of two students. If they broke through, then they would choose a student to bring back to their team, but if the arms held then they would join that team. My Mom liked playing the game because it was exciting when her name was called and nerve-wracking when a student was running full tilt into your arms. Recess Games – Now “Among Us” by Izzy My favourite recess game is Among Us. I like to play Among Us with Arya because it is fun. You do not need any equipment to play. The imposter tries to “kill” the crewmates. If the imposter “kills” everyone, they win. Recess Games – Then “Tag” by Izzy My Grandma’s favourite recess game was tag. She played with 8 of her friends. To play tag, you need to get your friends together and set boundaries. You do not need equipment. One person is the tagger while the others run away. My Grandma liked tag because she liked to run! He played with as many friends as he wanted. to play tag, when you are “it” you are trying to tag someone and then they are “it”. My Dad liked tag because he liked to run. I play with my discs and we always have fun. I play disc golf with my class. It is too much fun. You need a disc and nets to play. To play disc golf you throw the frisbee and try to get it in the net. Recess Games – Then “Baseball” by Mordecai My Grandpa Emery’s favourite recess game was Baseball. Fourteen people can play. To play baseball, you need a bat, 5 bases, a baseball, a back-catcher helmet, and baseball gloves. To start the game, the pitcher throws the ball to the batter and the catcher catches the ball (back). They bat the ball and run to the bases (1-5) and then home base. You have 3 strikes out. If you get to 4 balls, you walk to first base. My Grandpa Emery liked baseball because it’s lots of fun! Recess Games – Now “Among Us” by Arya My favourite recess game is Among Us. I play Among Us with Scott, Lindsay, Izzy, Mariah, and Odin. You don’t need equipment to play the game. There are 9 crewmates that are good. There are 2 imposters that are bad. The crewmates have to do all their tasks and the imposter does fake tasks and kills crewmates without getting caught. If the imposter kills everyone, they win. If the crewmates finish all their tasks, they win. I like playing Among Us because it is fun and competitive. Recess Games – Then “Four Square” by Arya My Dad’s favourite recess game is Four Square. To play the game you need a ball. My Dad played with his friends and classmates. Four people can play at a time. Your goal is to knock out the other player from his square by making them not catch the ball. My Dad liked Four Square because it is fun, competitive, and great exercise! Recess Games – Now “Rock, Paper, Scissors” by Andre My favourite recess game is Rock, Paper, Scissors. I like rock, paper, scissors. You play with one friend. You shake your fist three times and chant “rock, paper, scissors”. You choose either rock, paper, or scissors when the countdown is done. Rock beats scissors. Paper beats rock. Scissors beats paper. I like it because it’s fun. Recess Games – Then “Hopscotch” by Andre My Grandma’s favourite recess game is hopscotch. She would play with her friends at school. To play the game, you need chalk and a rock. You drew a template for hopscotch with the chalk and would throw the rock to see where you would skip to. My Grandma liked the game because they didn’t have play structures, only swing-sets, and if they were being used they would play hopscotch. Recess Games – Now “Family” by Emma My favourite recess game is family. I play it at recess with my friends. We don’t need equipment and play it under the play structure. To play the game you pretend to be a family. I like it because it is fun. Recess Games – Then “Tetherball” by Emma My Uncle Jamie’s favourite recess game was tetherball. To play the game you need a pole, a tetherball, and one other friend. When you hit the ball, the ball wraps around the pole. The first person to wrap the tetherball all the way around the pole wins. I play football with Nathaniel and Scott. In football, you need a football, a net, and a jersey. To play, you throw the football into the net to score points. The highest score wins. It’s a fun game.
