Vol. 3, No. 19 October 15,1976 Ground Broken For Rail/Air Intermodal Station Ground was broken on Wednes­ day, October 13, for a unique demon­ stration project in U.S. intermodal transportation - this country's only intercity air f rail passenger station. The site of the ground breaking is in 's Anne Arundel County immediately adjacent to the electri­ fied main line of 's Washing­ ton-New York-Boston rail corridor and about one mile from the main terminal of Baltimore- International Airport (BWI). Among those participating in the ceremony were Maryland's Senators J. Glenn Beall and Charles McC . Mathias; U. S.
