Such was Bootle's dominance that Gateacre failed to register a single shot on 1892 & The Northwest Neil Prince Dave Dale target. Inspired by playing at the Delta Taxi's stadium, Bootle began the game in the Counties Football League 1982 manner in which they continued for the entire 90 minutes. Pressing the game high in Awarded FA Charter the visitors half they harried and closed down their opponents who had no answer to Standard Status in this high tempo approach. November 2011 At the heart of this were the midfield trio of Smart, Cheetham and Charnock. Winning every tackle and header, using the ball intelligently and supporting lone frontman, An associated committee Ellis, these three provided a platform for Bootle to take total control. The first twenty consisting of elected members: minutes were played almost entirely in the Gateacre half and soon chances were created. Ellis was put clean through by Charnock but shot straight at the keeper and Mr Frank Doran Jnr the rebound was scrambled clear. The same player thought he had put Bootle in front with a great looping header soon afterwards but the effort was ruled out by a dubious Mr Ben Roberts offside decision. Mr Frank Doran Snr This did not deter Bootle and they continued to create chances. John Cheetham drove through the heart of the Gateacre defence but forced out wide his shot was saved by Mr Joe Benton MP the excellent Gateacre keeper. However, from the resultant corner Seddon scored the opening goal, forcing the ball over the line after it was headed cleverly back across Mr Bobby Capstick, Mr goal. Dave Ruth, Mr Geoff Frasier, Half Time Bootle 1 Gateacre 0 Mr Tommy McKay, Mr Tony McKay In the Home dressing room at half time the discussion was about continuing to play in the same positive way throughout the second half, while expecting a Gateacre backlash for the first 10 minutes or so. Due to the outstanding efforts of the Bootle Mr Joseph Doran side this backlash didn't happen. The game continued as it had in the first half with Bootle forcing their opponents further and further back, not allowing them time on the Mr Dave Miley Snr ball and playing some attractive football themselves. Mr Neil Prince The second goal came from the penalty spot after Charnock jinked his way into the penalty area only to be crudely taken down as he shaped to shoot. Billy Smart who Mr James Olsen looked every inch a First Team Player dispatched the kick low into the right hand corner of the net. Mr Neil Murphy A further effort was turned onto the bar and over by the Gateacre keeper as Bootle looked for further goals. At the other end home Keeper Mathew Lea made his first Mr Paul McCowen save of the game in stoppage time, turning an in-swinging corner over the bar. Mr Darren Carr Manager Richie Boswarva described this is a complete team performance, with all of the players carrying out to perfection the game plan. Mr Liam Royle It is hard to single out individual's when the whole team have played as well as this, but Smart, Charnock and Cheetham were at the heart of the plan to take control of the Mr Dave Miley Jnr, game in midfield and their performances were superb.
