ANÁLISIS DE LOS RESULTADOS En el presente capítulo se realiza una exhaustiva revisión de los resultados de la investigación, los cuales son el producto de la aplicación de un trabajo de campo dirigido a la recolección de los datos necesarios para dar cumplimiento a los objetivos del estudio previamente establecidos. Este primer instrumento dirigido a historiadores, musicólogos y expertos en el folklore zuliano, se orientó para conocer los orígenes, raíces, y definiciones fundamentales de los diferentes géneros musicales zulianos y los aportes que originaron dichos géneros. El análisis es realizado en forma cualitativa, mediante la identificación y explicación de los conocimientos, y estructuras de los géneros musicales que se van a estudiar ofrecidos por los entrevistados, en cuanto a las diferentes hipótesis que se les plantearon. Por lo tanto los resultados son presentados de estrictamente de manera analítica, como producto de la identificación de la información obtenida para cada uno de los ítems formulados en el cuestionario aplicado. 38 39 1.1. ENTREVISTA REALIZADO AL HISTORIADOR ROMERO. Siguiendo los parámetros establecidos, se le preguntó al historiador sobre, la historia sintetizada del género musical gaita zuliana, este respondió que los antecedentes más antiguos de la gaita atestiguan su origen afroamericano. Se llamó indistintivamente gaitas a diferentes aires musicales indígenas y mestizos, donde se destacaba el sonido de las flautas, acompañado de tambores y maracas. Y así fueron gaitas tanto los instrumentos melódicos aborígenes (las flautas), como la danza que se derivó de su música. En cuanto a la pregunta que se le realizó sobre la definición y características de cada tipo de gaita, comentó que la Gaita de Tambora es la más antigua de todas las gaitas. -

This is the Smithsonian NEA Jazz Masters oral history interview with Hubert Laws in his home in Los Angeles, California, conducted by Anthony Brown and Ken Kimery. Good afternoon, Hubert. How are you doing? Laws: I’m fine, man. Brown: The last time I saw you was at the NEA Jazz Masters awards in January. You provided the first musical number, a duet with Kenny Barron, playing Stella by Starlight. I have to say, that was the high point of the evening. It could have stopped after that. That was, oh, incredible. Laws: It’s kind of you to say that, because I felt very good about that collaboration with Kenny. It’s so interesting, because we were supposed to have had a rehearsal that morning. We met in this little room on the side and we ended up – I said, “You know what? Let’s do – let’s just play for a while, and then we’ll lead on into Stella.” I said, “We may do that, or I may do another tune.” He said okay. That’s what I love about professional guys like him. They’re so flexible. We didn’t know what we were going to play in the beginning.
