It is advised that a chart be kept for each child to enable both the teacher and child to see progress, and to motivate the child to procede on an individual basis. The program is said to comprise five areas: muscular strength, dynamic balance, body awareness, spatial awareness, and temporal awareness. Activities in each area are presented in terms of teacher instructions, objective, concepts, materials required, and questions or directions to be given by teachers. Noted is inclusion of a pretest/posttest and warm up exercises. -

Discover Gymnastics Activity Book Overview of Discover Gymnastics The Discover Gymnastics Program is an educational initiative brought to you by Gymnastics Ontario. The program offers a number of learning and interactive opportunities based on a group of student’s attendance at a gymnastics event. Working independently or as part of a small group, students will engage in learning experiences designed to meet a number of Language expectations found in the junior and intermediate Ontario curriculum document. Students will work with the enclosed article, There’s a lot of life for you in Gymnastics, in order to complete a variety of before, during, and after reading strategies. Students will gain knowledge on the five disciplines of gymnastics, the history of the sport, as well as character traits of high level athletes and their supportive sport community. Students will access information from within the resource package, as well as those from relevant websites in order to support learning experiences. Teachers will find activity descriptions of the twelve lessons and the accompanying line masters and extension activities required for each activity within the unit. Teachers should assess students on a daily basis using conferencing, exit slips, student observation, and the Ontario Language Curriculum Achievement Chart. Message from Gymnastics Ontario Gymnastics is a foundation for all physical activity and sport. Participants learn the ABC’s of Athleticism – Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed. Ghaziabad Abstract The purpose of the study is to investigate whether conventional (wobble board) proprioceptive training or multi-station proprioceptive training is an effective way to improve vertical jump performance. The research study included 30 basketball players divided into the two groups, Group A (n = 15) and Group B (n = 15). The group A underwent the wobble board proprioceptive training program lasting for four weeks. The group B was administered the multi- station proprioceptive training program lasting for four weeks. Both the training programs consisted of one-leg and double-leg static and dynamic balance drills. The demands and duration of those exercises increased progressively. The vertical jump height was estimated by Sergeant Jump Test at the beginning, after second week and at the end of the experiment. The results of this study indicate that Multi-station training showed greater improvements as compared to the conventional balance training and the results were significant at p<0.01. Multi-station training consisted of gradually progressive activities on exercise mats, wobble boards, mini trampoline, thera – band and walking on uneven surface while the conventional training consisted of training on wobble boards. -

Abstract The aim of this study was to know the attitudes towards racquet sports in Spanish primary school teachers. Eighty one teachers from Zaragoza participated in this study, filling out the scale Positive attitudes towards racquet sport of the validated Table Tennis Attitudes Questionnaire. The internal consistency of this scale was measured with the Cronbach alpha coefficient. The results indicate Md=2.19 (SD=0.38) in this scale. The 27.2% of the teachers have never done one training course of this kind of sports, being the badminton the most studied sport. However, the teachers have mainly badminton teaching material. This study shows which is the prevalence of the racquet sports in the teacher programs. Statistically significant relationships were found between the studies of the teachers or the kind of the school, and the attitudes towards racquet sport. The results of this study suggest us that there have to be more educative programs to implementation racquet sports. 1. Introduction Several studies have shown the good considerations that the sport have in the scholar system (Napper-Owen, Kovar, Ermiler & Mehrhof, 1999; Zabala Lozano, Delgado & Viciana, 2001; Zabala, Viciana & Lozano, 2002; Salinas & Viciana, 2006). But other researches teach us that some contents are more relevance than other is teacher’s programming (Napper-Owen et al., 1999; Zabala et al., 2002; Robles, 2008; Robles, 2009), thus it’s necessary to know the amount and the teacher’s reasons of their presence at the school (Robles, Tomás, Castillo, Giménez & Robles, 2013; Robles, Giménez, Abad & Robles, 2015; Iglesias, 2015). -

Forms of gymnastics Artistic gymnastics Artistic gymnastics is divided into Men's and Women's Gymnastics. Each group does different events ; Men compete on Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar , while women compete on Vault, Uneven Bars, Beam, and Floor Exercise . Though routines performed on each event may be short, they are physically exhausting. Nowadays, at the international level, competitions on the various apparatus consist of two different performance categories: compulsory and optional. Each country may use compulsory and optional routines as they wish. Women's events Vault In the vaulting events gymnasts: sprint down a 25 meter (about 82 feet) runway , jump onto a beatboard , (run/ take-off segment), land on the vaulting horse or vaulting table, then spring of this platform to a two footed landing . This may include one or more multiple saltos or somersaults , and/or twisting movements. In 2001, the traditional vaulting horse was replaced with a new apparatus, sometimes known as a tongue or table . Uneven Bars On the uneven bars (also known as asymmetric bars (UK ), the gymnast navigates two horizontal bars set at different heights. Gymnasts perform swinging, circling , transitional , and release moves. Gymnasts often mount the Uneven Bars using a beatboard (springboard). Balance Beam The gymnast performs a choreographed routine from 60 to 80 seconds in length consisting of leaps, acrobatic skills, somersaults etc. on a padded sprung beam. The event requires in particular, balance, flexibility and strength. Floor The floor event occurs on a carpeted 12m × 12m square. Female gymnasts perform a choreographed exercise 70 to 90 seconds long.
