This information shall assist you in finding accommodation for the time of your stay in Berlin. We have reserved a number of rooms in different hotels, all within close distance to the conference location. Please choose a hotel ac- cording to your personal preferences, and contact the hotel directly for a binding reservation under your name within the “Berlin Conference” contin- gent. Deadlines for reservations are indicated for each hotel. If we did not agree on alternative arrangements, all accommodation expenses are the responsibility of conference participants. The hotel is located in the “Grunewald” district, one of the most beautiful parts of Berlin. The surroundings of the hotel invite to a walk. You find here large historic mansions in one of the most prestigious parts of Berlin. The „bustling” western part of Berlin is just a few minutes away from this “quiet location” in green surroundings. At the hotel, there is a heated indoor swim- ming-pool, a sauna and fitness facilities at your disposal. You can reach the conference location in 20 minutes.

All rooms have a modern bath with shower and toilet. Some rooms also have a small kitchen. Direct dialing, minibar, radio and cable- TV are standard. Fax messages can be received and sent.

Arrival By taxi: it takes you about 20 minutes from either Tegel airport or Tempelhof airport to arrive at the hotel. By public transport: bus number 110 brings you directly from the central railway station “Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten” to the hotel in about 25 minutes. The ride by taxi takes about 10 minutes.

How to get to The subway station “Podbielskiallee” (line U1) can be reached in a conference location 10 minute walk from the hotel. After two stops (direction „Krumme Lanke”), you get of at „Thielplatz” . Alternatively, you can reach “Thielplatz” with the bus: take bus 110 from the hotel (bus stop “Platz am Wilden Eber”) with the direction “Zehlendorf Eiche” and get of at “U Thielplatz”. After another 5 minute walk, guided by signs, you will reach the conference location.

The hotel is located in the district “Steglitz” close to the western center of Berlin. The beautiful “Botanical Garden” of Berlin is in walking distance of the hotel. There is a specialties restaurant and a nice little bar in the hotel. You can reach the famous boulevard “Kurfürsten- damm” in only 15 minutes using the subway that stops close to the hotel. You can reach the conference location in 30 minutes.

Arrival by taxi: from the airport Tegel over the city highway in 15 minutes, from the airport Schoenefeld in about 30 minutes.

By bus and rail: from the central station “Bahnhof Zoo” with the subway line U9 (direction “Rathaus Steglitz”) to the final stop “Rathaus Steglitz”, from here you can walk to the hotel in about 2 minutes.

How to get to At the subway and city train station “Rathaus Steglitz” there also is conference location a bus stop. Take bus 183 (direction “Rathaus Zehlendorf”) until the stop “ U Dahlem Dorf”. There you change to the subway line U1 (direction “Krumme Lanke”). The next stop of this line is “Thielplatz”. After another 5 minute walk, guided by signs, you will reach the conference location.

Alternatively from station “Zoo” with subway line U9 (direction “Rathaus Steglitz”) until station “Spichernstraße” then change to subway line U1 (direction “Krumme Lanke”) until the final stop “Krumme Lanke”. From there it is about 10 minutes to walk.

From the central train station “Bahnhof Zoo” take subway line U9 (direction “Rathaus Steglitz”) until station “Spichernstraße” there, change to subway line U1 (direction “Krumme Lanke”) until the stop “Heidelberger Platz”. It is centrally located at the “Rathaus Schöneberg” (city hall Schöneberg) in one of the most at- tractive districts of Berlin. In the vicinity of the hostel there are many public buses, subway and local train stations. Places of interest like Reichstag, Brandenburger Tor, Potsdamer Platz, Alexanderplatz or Kurfürstendamm can be all reached within 15 minutes. The conference center can be reached within 20 minutes from the hotel.

How to get to Take subway line U2 from the hostel (direction “Ruhleben”) until conference location stop “Wittenbergplatz”. There, connect to subway line U1(direction “Krumme Lanke”) until the stop “Thielplatz”. From there, within a 5 minute walk, guided by signs, you will reach the conference location. All in all, it will take you about 45 minutes from the hostel to the conference location.
