History

Reismühle AG was founded in 1956 and has been part of the Coop Group since 2004. Reismühle Brunnen stands for fair and environmentally friendly rice production, making it the best in Europe in this regard.

Nutrex AG was founded in Busswil in 1942 by local farmers. Since 1992 Nutrex has focused exclusively on vinegar production.

In 2007 both divisions were placed under one management and in 2018 Reismühle merged with Nutrex. A new vinegar production facility is currently being built in Brunnen to bring the two sites together. The construction work is due to be completed in 2021. Our company

In Brunnen, Canton Schwyz, 12 000 tonnes of rice are produced with care each year by more than 25 employees and 3 trainees, using the latest technology to meet the highest quality standards. Flexibly, reliably and expertly. In Busswil, 9 million litres of Swiss top-quality vinegar are produced by 15 employees. We offer innovative specialities and a wide range of fruit, wine and table vinegar made from regional fruit. We generate total sales of over CHF 30 million (72 % from rice, 28 % from vinegar) with customers from the retail, wholesale, catering and industry segments. The share of sales generated from organic and Fairtrade products totals more than 58% for rice and more than 30 % for vinegar. Our company

Our promise to our rice farmers Fair prices and additional premiums for organic products safeguard the livelihoods of our rice farmers and their families. The promotion of sustainable rice farming increases biodiversity and boosts the farmers' annual income by 30 % or more. Because we believe that the combination of organic and Fairtrade is ideal, we set up a unique project in 2011: the fair & good sustainability project in India and Thailand.

Interested customers have the chance to visit our projects in India and Thai- land and source their rice products from a selected cooperative. We are a flexible partner and never compromise on quality.
