To My Fellow Hobbyists,

Welcome to Auction #2 of our five 2010 offerings. We are presenting 740 quality lots for every level of collector, as we do with each auction we run. The remaining auctions are scheduled for July, September and December, all to be formatted similarly to this one. For our September sale, we will be displaying several incredible pieces for that auction at our booth at the National Convention in Baltimore, MD (August 3-8). Consign your high-dollar items today to ensure a spot in our display. Between then and now, we are actively seeking items for our July 28-29 auction - the consignment deadline is June 9th.

With all that said, once again our dedicated team has outdone itself in assembling this fantastic array of rare, unusual and one-of-a-kind items. Dave Stoddard has added even more new features that continue to keep our website simple and user friendly while incorporating new and useful ideas. Our head writer Kevin Heffner and his staff of Randy (Country) Curtis, Mark Raines, James Feagin, and Matt Flores have detailed the items, while our photography/scanning staff has worked incredibly hard to present the wonderful images you see in the catalog and on the web- site. Mark Spinrad has swept the catalog for #@%#”s, and Josh Wulkan and Stefan Wisinski have given Mike Henry the “canvas and paint” he needs to create another masterpiece.

Kris Fraley and Randy did another amazing job sending out all the lots in a safe and timely manner. Great job guys!! Barry Malkin's eagle eyes have once again spotted some high-grade gems!!

Our constantly growing nationwide staff of consignor reps (now at 32 strong), lead by the tireless Steve Dickler, has gathered together another fine assortment of “goodies.” Should you have items or an entire collection you are thinking about selling, a full list of our well-qualified, ready reps and their contact info is available is this catalog. Call'm; you'll be surprised how much money they can put in your pocket.

The ladies of Huggins and Scott Auctions: Nancy, Janet, Stef, Kristie, Brooke, Greta, Gail, Allison, Carrie and our newest edition Samantha always get their own Paragraph of Thanks for putting up with our late hours and countless phone calls.

Our final and foremost thanks always goes to you, our consignors and bidders. From A to Z in both categories you continue to amaze us with the material you turn up and the integrity with which you conduct yourselves in all aspects of our dealings. The friendships we have made out of the trust you have placed in us are immeasurable, and for that we are always grateful.

I hope you enjoy our latest catalog. Feel free to call us anytime with questions, comments or suggestions.

Good Luck

1. Hank Aaron 1968-1969 Atlanta Braves Signed Game-Worn Road Jersey As the 1960s neared its end, Senior Circuit sluggers Hank Aaron and Willie Mays continued their strides toward Babe Ruth’s unfathomable record of 714 career home runs. While age and the effects of lengthy Major League service began to take effect on Mays, Aaron showed no such signals of wear, catching and leaving his contemporary in the dust, as he eventually shattered Ruth’s mark. The offered Atlanta Braves apparel was donned by “Hammerin’ Hank” during the 1968 and 1969 seasons, as he began to separate himself from the field and silence any doubters as to the longevity of his potent swing. Having entered the ‘68 campaign with 481 career circuit clouts, Aaron added 29 more to his ledger, including No. 500, which was launched, fittingly, on 7-14 at the expense of San Francisco’s Mike McCormick. The following season, Aaron delivered 44 more round trippers, as he powered his Braves to the postseason for the first time since 1958 and for the first time ever as representatives of Atlanta. Additionally, Aaron wrested the attention of the baseball world, which took notice not only of his pursuit of Mays, but of his legitimate shot at Ruth, as well. Unwavering in his quest for supremacy, Aaron wore and autographed this gray flannel button-down garment with “Braves” angled across the chest in blue-on-red double tackle twill and his since-retired number “44” sewn to the back in like fashion. A “Laughing Brave” logo patch adorns the left sleeve, and an MLB silhouette logo “100th Anniversary” patch is sewn to the right sleeve. The tapered and vented left front tail is home to a “Spalding” label and size “40” tag, as well as a laundering instructions tag and “SET 1 1968” flap tag. Just above the tagging, Aaron’s black marker signature projects (“8”) strength and clarity.Within the collar, a felt strip tag bears embroidered identifiers that read “44 40 68” (respectively denoting uniform number, size and year). The tagging arrangement is consistent with other 1968 exemplars, while the aforementioned right sleeve patch indicates that the jersey was re-issued for the fol- lowing season. There are four holes (as tailored) under each arm to facilitate ventilation. All original and unaltered, the Hall of Fame heirloom exhibits evidence of moderate wear, with minimal fraying and puckering about the twill components. Full photo LOA from Dave Miedema (attesting to the jersey’s authenticity) and auction LOA from James Spence Authentications (for autograph only). Opening Bid $7500.00

A youthful representation of the “Georgia Peach” is “ripe for the picking” with the offered 1907-09 H.M. Taylor Ty Cobb postcard. Babe Ruth Single-Signed Baseball With Full JSA Babe Ruth was revered the world over, as he transcended both sporting and cultural institutions. It’s well documented that his very name supplanted superlatives, as “The Babe Ruth of ...” was quick to trump each and every other comparison. While one would be hard pressed to find a match for Ruth in terms of historical popularity, his auto- graph on the offered baseball rests on a similar plateau. The medium is a “Spalding” sphere with a “CORK CENTER” identifier found on examples issued in both 1932 and 1935. So while the exact date of the orb is a sound estimation, the sweet spot autograph is as definitive as can be. In black-ink, steel-tip fountain pen, Ruth’s familiar scripting exhibits (“8-9”) strength, though the very minor surface abrasions affecting his moniker and the slightest ink migration on his surname combine to warrant an overall assess- ment of (“7”). The ball, meanwhile, shows expected signs of light handling and minor age-induced toning. An area of wear on the north panel has partially obscured a manu- facturer’s stamping whose last few characters remain visible. In light of the aforementioned details, the orb grades (“5”). But the focus, of course, remains on a signature as powerful as its author’s trademark swing. Simply put, this Ruth penning ranks in the upper tier of examples throughout the hobby. 121. 1927-1928 New York Yankees Team-Signed Ball With (8) Including Ruth, Gehrig and Grabowski With unprecedented fence-clearing abilities and a swagger to match, New Yo r k ’s late-1920s “Murderers Row” rosters were viewed with awe reserved for no team before or since. Even contemporary Senior Circuit champions, no matter how powerful, were deemed sacrificial lambs for those “Bronx Bomber” installments, which, of course, swept their lesser opponents in back-to-back Fall Classics in 1927 and 1928. The offered multi-signed baseball bears qualities that mirror those of the Murderers Row lineup, as it is certain to have few peers in terms of both appearance and strength of autographs. The medium is an OAL Barnard sphere with prominent stampings and vibrant red-and-blue alternating laces. The creamy surface, while intermittently affected by very minor surface abrasions and faint evi- dence of handling, still warrants (“5”) grading. The black-ink fountain pen scriptings, meanwhile, vary in terms of q u a l i t y, though each of the (8) pennings is readily recognizable. In its rightful and customary occupancy of the sweet spot, the signature of Babe Ruth (d.1948) projects (“6”) strength and clarity. While the characters have dimmed over time, each remains unmistakable. On the north panel, Earle Combs (d.1976, “5”) and Mark Koenig (d.1993, “4-5”) reside just above the facsimile signature of A.L. czar Barnard. Just below, the penning of Lou Gehrig (d.1941) is exe- cuted in traditionally small characters that reflect the slugger’s humble demeanor, showing (“4”) quality. On the south panel, slightly more powerful scriptings approach (“6”) quality, with Waite Hoyt (d.1984), the ever tough J o h n n y G r a b o w k s i (d.1946), Joe Dugan (d.1982) and Bob Meusel (d.1977). While Grabowski’s arrival (January 13, 1927) and Dugan’s departure (December 24, 1928) narrow the possible date of signing possibilities, Barnard’s name likely limits the ball’s origin to 1928. The offered OAL MacPhail sphere showcases the sweet spot signature of the former single-season circuit clout champ. The creamy orb (grade “6”) shows intermittent faint toning spots, none of which impinge upon a power- ful blue ballpoint signature that projects (“8-9”) quality. Just below the barrel stampings, Williams’ sizable blue Sharpie autograph is perhaps as powerful as any to have surfaced, trumpeting (“10”) strength and clarity. Accenting the incomparable scripting are inscriptions (in Williams’ hand) of: “344 B.A. - 521 H.R. - 1839 R.B.I. - 1941 .406.” A limited edition notation denotes “43/99.” Accompanying is a full photo LOA from PSA/DNA. Additionally, a “Green Diamond” Authentication hologram is adhered to the barrel. Opening Bid $250.00

Ray Scarborough 1951-1952 Game-Worn Home Uniform A mound stalwart for cellar-dwelling clubs in the nation’s capital, right-hander Ray Scarborough brought his pitching prowess to Fenway Park in the early 1950s as the BoSox tried (in vain) to derail the mighty Yankees. The offered Red Sox home uniform was worn by the Wake Forest product during his 1951-1952 tenure with the Carmines. This aesthetically appealing post-war ensemble is tailored from heavy flannel whose weight had to be nothing short of unbearable on those August afternoons. Includes: J e r s e y a cream-colored but- ton-down garment with “RED SOX” arched across the chest in red-on-blue felt characters and “18” sewn to the back in like fashion. Red piping accents the collar, sleeve endings and button path, and the collar’s interior is home to a “Wilson” label and partially detached size “44” tag. There are six holes (as tailored) under each sleeve to facilitate ventilation; P a n t s cream-colored leg wear with a four-button fly, six belt loops (original belt accompanies) and two cotton-lined back pockets. Red trim lines the outer legs and a size “34” tag resides within the button path. The items exhibit moderate wear with dirt/perspiration stains, minimal fabric pilling and evidence of a number change. A d d i t i o n a l l y, there is a small tear on the jersey’s left sleeve, where the 1951 “American League 50th Anniversary” patch has been removed. The original pearl-colored buttons remain. By most accounts, there was a lack of consistency/completeness in Red Sox gamers of the era. The lot comes with a full photo LOA from Dave Miedema, and provenance accompanies in the form a receipt from the original seller, who hails from a town near Scarborough’s North Carolina home. Opening Bid $2000.00

150. Brooks Robinson 1966 Signed Game-Used Bat The American League’s winningest franchise over four successive decades (1920s through 1950s), the New York Yankees were supplanted by Baltimore Orioles installments that stressed pitching and defense as they claimed superiority through the 1960s and 1970s. The archetypal bird, Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson wielded and signed this bat as the Orioles rose to prominence. The weapon is a Hillerich & Bradsby “MC44” signature model turned to dimensions of 30.4 ounces and 34-1/2 inches. Specifically, records at Kentucky-based bat giant reveal that an order of MC44 models was placed on October 3, 1966, indicating that the bats were sent to Robinson for use in the World Series. Simultaneously representing October triumph, a Cooperstown legend and Gold Glove icon, this white ash treasure features a smooth tan finish and a pronounced center brand and barrel stampings. Just to the right of the latter identifier, Robinson’s period ballpoint signature (inscribed “To Vince Jr. Best of Luck”) projects (“8”) strength and clarity. The bat exhibits evidence of light game use with ball marks on the left barrel as well as bat-rack streaks. The knob is home to a black-marker inscription of Robinson’s since-retired number “5,” as well as notations of “31” (weight) and “2.” Full photo LOA from John Taube, PSA/DNA (for bat only) and full photo LOA from Kevin Keating (for signature only). T h e o ffered Rawlings-Adirondack “170B” block-letter (full name) weapon was brandished and autographed by the Cubs hero during that memorable 1998 season. This (31.2oz/34-1/2”) white ash weapon exhibits moderate game use in the form of ball, bat-rack, stitch and ball label transfer marks about the barrel, as well as light pine-tar residue, scoring and a 9-1/2” layer of athletic tape on the handle. Further accenting the uncracked blue-ring lum- ber is Sosa’s black marker autograph (“9” strength), which is accompanied by his inscriptions of “#21 - 66 HR MVP 98.” The knob is home to model n u m b e r, year and batch code stampings, as well as handwritten notations of “31” (bat weight) and “Sosa.” Opening Bid $200.00
