    1 PENDAHULUAN Latar Belakang Setiap perusahaan tentunya akan menghadapi fenomena keluar masuknya karyawan dalam bekerja atau turnover. Menurut Lum et al. (2006), intensi turnover adalah keinginan seseorang untuk keluar dari organisasi, yaitu evaluasi mengenai posisi seseorang saat ini yang berkenaan dengan ketidakpuasan dan dapat memicu keinginan seseorang untuk keluar dan mencari pekerjaan lain. Dalam waktu tertentu angka turnover bisa tinggi atau sebaliknya, tergantung faktor yang memengaruhinya. Menurut Ridlo (2012), yang dimaksud turnover yaitu proporsi jumlah anggota organisasi yang secara sukarela (voluntary) dan tidak sukarela (non vuluntary) meninggalkan organisasi dalam kurun waktu tertentu. Umumnya dinyatakan dalam satu tahun, turnover tidak boleh lebih dari 10 persen pertahun. Pergantian karyawan tentunya memiliki dampak bagi perusahaan. Namun sebagian besar pergantian karyawan membawa pengaruh yang kurang baik terhadap organisasi, baik dari segi biaya maupun hilangnya waktu dan kesempatan untuk memanfaatkan peluang. Turnover merupakan petunjuk ketidakstabilan karyawan. Semakin tinggi turnover, berarti semakin sering terjadi pergantian karyawan. Tentu hal ini akan merugikan perusahaan, karena apabila seorang karyawan meninggalkan perusahaan akan membawa berbagai biaya. Kerugian – kerugian yang akan diterima perusahaan jika turnover tinggi diantaranya, biaya penarikan karyawan, biaya latihan menyangkut waktu pengawas, departemen personalia dan karyawan yang dilatih. Tingkat kecelakaan para karyawan baru biasanya cenderung tinggi. Adanya produksi yang hilang selama masa pergantian karyawan. Peralatan produksi yang tidak bisa digunakan sepenuhnya. Banyak pemborosan karena adanya karyawan baru. Perlu melakukan kerja lembur, kalau tidak akan mengalami penundaan pekerjaan. Fenomena turnover tentunya bisa terjadi juga di industri pertelevisian. Ada 10 televisi swasta nasional di Indonesia, salah satunya beberapa televisi yang ada di MNC Media. Permasalahan turnover juga bisa terjadi di MNC Media.

Dimana media televisi masih banyak memberikan kontribusi berupa hiburan maupun informasi lainnya. Dalam dunia penyiaran semakin televisi tersebut memberikan tayangan yang menarik minat penonton akan menaikan rating acara tersebut. Namun sangat disayangkan semakin berkembangnya media saat ini tontonan khusus anak- anak semakin berkurang. Rating tinggi hanya dapat ditemui dikebanyakan sinetron yang tidak baik di pertontonkan untuk anak-anak. Televisi adalah satu media massa yang mempunyai berbagai fungsi. Fungsi televisi adalah sebagai alat informasi bagi masyarakat yang membutuhkan informasi baik nasional maupun internasional. Televisi adalah media pandang sekaligus media dengar (audio viasual). Ia berbeda dengan media cetak yang lebih merupakan media pandang. Orang memandang gambar yang ditayangkan di televisi, sekaligus mendengar atau mencerna narasi dari gambar tersebut. Televisi memiliki kelebihan dari media massa lainnya karena bersifat audio visual (didengar dan dilihat), dapat menggambarkan kenyataan dan secara langsung dapat menyajikan peristiwa yang sedang terjadi kepada setiap pemirsa dimanapun ia berada. Televisi sendiri muncul di Indonesia pada tahun 1960. Itupun hanya dapat disaksikan disekitar Ibu Kota Jakarta, dan pada tahun 1962 TVRI pertama kali memulai siaran sederhananya. Disaat waktu yang bersamaan perlu diketahui belum semua masyarakat Indonesia memiliki Televisi dan menyaksikan acara tersebut. Dengan demikian televisi menjadi alat 1 komunikasi yang bersifat mewah yang hanya dimiliki segelintir orang. Namun seiring berjalannya waktu ditahun 1990an televisi berubah menjadi alat komunikasi yang tidak lagi asing dan mewah disetiap keluarga. Bahkan televisi menjadi alat hiburan sederhana setiap keluarga bahkan di pelosok atau perkampungan sekalipun.
