DISCLAIMER AND TRIP RULES

Canal Walk is growing and “Moving Forward”. We now have two Jitneys and have increased our variety and number of trips exponentially. Accordingly, effective immediately, we are standardizing our trip policies and procedures to more effectively and efficiently manage the operation. It is also to provide standard guidance for all Jitney leaders. These changes are also related to better financial control of our operations as suggested by our audit team.

By making application to take any trip using a Canal Walk Jitney, I agree to be personally responsible for myself and my guests. I expressly understand and shall abide by the Rules below.

GENERAL RULES FOR CANAL WALK TRIPS

All submissions must be date stamped and include payment in full.

All trips must charge and include tip for driver. For paid events, we should plan to allow $40 for a tip for the driver by adding $2 to the ticket price. For free events there will be a non-refundable charge of $5.00 from which the tip will be paid. This change has been made because people have signed up and then not attended depriving others of a chance to go or leaving the jitney with few people.

There will be no collection for driver’s tip on the Jitneys. Committee and Club leaders must provide cash for the jitney leader to tip the driver. This is available from the office.

The jitneys will leave on the return trip as soon as everyone is on the Jitney or one-half hour after the end of the show without exception. Those not on the Jitney will be responsible for their return to Canal Walk.

There will be a numerical order for boarding the Jitney.

No person is allowed to enter the bus/Jitney without tickets and in numeric order. All persons wanting to be together must wait until their entire party arrives.

We do our best to seat parties together at the venue, however the venues do not always give us seats allowing us to do so. The office is instructed to honor the requests on the earliest request for tickets.

If a person and/or their guests cannot manage themselves safely and responsibly on a trip, the Canal Walk Board may reasonably determine the person and/or their guests are not eligible to go on future trips. This action will be taken to ensure the safety of the person and any guest.

As a point of interest, each jitney trips saves residents $25-30 per trip.
