The WOMANhouse ARTIST: HIMHERANDIT PRODUCTIONS (DK), TYPE: DANCE

The WOMANhouse sees four powerfully athletic female performers transform them- selves into men. Acting like typical blokes - with beards and all - they stir up fights and frenzy. Questioning masculinity in female bodies, they tear up stereotypical ideas about what it is to be a man. Tender, aggressive, sexy, blurry - this show crosses all the lines.

The WOMANhouse was selected as one of the top twenty dance works for Aerowaves16.

ReDOING GENDER 2.0 ARTIST: HIMHERANDIT PRODUCTIONS (DK), TYPE: DANCE

In this solo, a male performer challenges patriarchal masculinities to question norma- tive and non normative male gender roles. From classical sculptures of male ideals, a gender confused ape, feminized frolics, a box headed individual, to a full blown crying baby with a mans body. ReDoing GENDER is filled with intense imagery that displays one mans search for an identity amid the gaze of a patriarchal society.

GARDEN ARTIST: HIMHERANDIT PRODUCTIONS (DK), TYPE: IMMERSIVE PERFORMANCE FOR ONE

GARDEN is nominated for a Reumert Award 2018 in the category of Best Performance.

GARDEN is a unique performance experience where individual audiences one at a time are immersed into a surreal world of adventure and intimate encounters. Traveling be- tween the curtains of a dream like maze, they encounter an environment that would be best described as Twin Peaks meets Alice in Wonderland! This immersive and participatory performance for one audience member is a 45 minute experience where you will have unique encounters that are tailored to your own imagination and desires.

MANhouse 2.0 ARTIST: HIMHERANDIT PRODUCTIONS (DK), TYPE: DANCE

Manhouse 2.0 is a new performance that tackles themes of impotence, performance anxiety and fragile masculinity. In this new work choreographer Andreas Constantinou brings together a live pianist and devising performer/dancer to interrogate these notions live on stage. With one common goal: sustain performance perfection, stay hard and bring their audiences to a climax.

MANhouse 2.0 is the final chapter in The GENDERhouse series and the 8th performance in the six-year series of works that each tackle different themes of gender, sexuality and identity.

TRIPLE THREAT ARTIST: LUCY MCCORMICK (UK), TYPE: PERFORMANCE

Post-popular prodigy Lucy McCormick and her Girl Squad present a trashstep-dub- punk morality play for the modern world. Casting herself in all the main roles, Lucy will attempt to re-connect to her own moral conscience by re-enacting the New Testament via a Nu-wave holy trinity of dance, power ballads and performance art. With trademark absurdism and enthusiasm, Lucy puts her best foot forward in the face of existential deadlock.

O/B/S/T/A/C/L/E & DANS FOR SATAN ARTIST: TRAVIS ALABANZA (UK) & HILDE SANDVOLD (NOR/DK) TYPE: PERFORMANCE & DANCE

About O/B/S/T/A/C/L/E: Travis Alabanza presents abstracts from their upcoming solo show. A reading. A confession. A breaking down. An obstacle. In the observation of how a trans body, a black body, a body out of borders and barriers can survive.

About Dans, for satan: The performance is a short, is a short reflection based around the themes of gender and sexuality, and on being caught in your own starting-point. A small poem, and an icebreaker.

EAT YOUR BEANS ARTIST: DAGMARA BILON (UK), TYPE: PERFORMANCE

The audience are invited to dine with Dagmara Bilon who during the finely prepared meal will occasionally wear a Placenta on her head and examine ‘outrageous behavior’ in the context of contemporary society. A feast of fragmented testimonies by a devour- ing mother, juxtaposing an opera lip sink and visual images during an immersive witch trail. The performance aims to move beyond the confines of sentiment and touch on the themes of community, home and identity in the current geo-political climate. Which witch is the witch? And what is seriously outrageous?

MY CUNTRY ARTIST: CUNTSCOLLECTIVE (DK), TYPE: PHYSICAL THEATRE

Forced, fleeing, thrown out, thrown away? Every time is true, but the truth is never the same. MY CUNTRY is a hybrid between fiction and reality, which- through the mantra ‘more is more’ and with the humor as a speaker- invites the audience into an aesthetic world of genderfuckery, butoh, classical dance, physical theatre and high fashion. MY CUNTRY shows the world from the outsiders’ perspective and asks: who has decided that they were wrong?

LYST#2 ARTIST: EJA DUE OG LENE KREILGAARD (DK), TYPE: PERFORMANCE LECTURE

Dark windows and a dirty neon sign that lights “open”. You enter, maybe through a cling- ing crystal pendant. There is certainly coffee and Asti in the waiting room and a menu with Danish and Spanish, dildo show and hardcore. Most people have an idea of how to work as a prostitute, but now Theater Bæst takes us very close to the sex worker and the complex debate when we open a pop-up brothel on the 5th floor of the theater.

KONTROLTEST ARTIST: SANNE SØNDERGAARD (DK), TYPE: STAND UP COMEDY

Like most women, Sanne Søndergaard has a strained relationship with control. Too little control is like chaos and unwanted pregnancy. In case of too much control, no one can seem to be with such an “emsig kælling” (busy bitch). In this 50-minute show, Sanne Søndergaard tests her need of control. She actually tests exactly how much con- trol she will have on her upcoming solo show, ‘Control Looser’.

This show will be in Danish

PSYKLUS ARTIST: NATASHA BROCK (DK), TYPE: STAND UP COMEDY

Natasha Brock has, like a lot of women, her period, but she can’t seem to understand the whole thing about the cycle. With PMS, pains, uncontrollable bleeding, mood changes, prejudice and taboo, is there even anything to laugh about? Laugh, cry or get mad (maybe all at once), when Natasha tries to figure, what the heck happens to our psyche, when we suffer the curse of Eve.

This show will be in Danish

SJÖHOLM ALBUM RELEASE ARTIST: SJOHOLM (DK), TYPE: MUSIC CONCERT

The Swedish singer Karin Sjöholm and the Danish guitarist guitarist Morten Svenningsen makes “dramatic folk-pop”, inspired by Swedish traditional folk music, Spanish flamenco and Blues. A mix of acoustic and electronic elements creates a naked and ambient expression, in songs about longing, love and mythology.

With her first album Sjöholm tries to create an expression that travels across borders, where the listener is taken into dreamy fantasies about sirens, princes and trolls, but also to prostitiution, decaying decadence and death. The musical focus is in the details, the dynamics and the intuitive interplay amongst the musicians.

BUCKING THE SYSTEM ARTIST: BUCK ANGEL (USA), TYPE: SEMINAR

Buck Angel shares his moving personal life story and the process of his gender transition from female to male, while challenging the audience’s notion of what makes someone a man or a woman. He describes how he changed from a desper- ately unhappy and uncomfortable individual to a person who is proud of his body and sexually comfortable with his genitals (which have not been surgically altered). Buck has lead the way for transmen to have self-acceptance without surgery. In fact, his message of self-acceptance goes beyond gender and genitals: it is a universal concept of knowing, becoming, and loving yourself. 22.-23. SEPTEMBER 10:00-15:00 BORA BORA, BIG STAGE

BLAUE FRAU ARTIST: JULI APPONEN (SE), TYPE: WORKSHOP

Blaue Frau workshops have been held throughout Scandinavia over the past four years. In the workshops performance arts are approached with a theme of anti-rac- ism and norm-criticism. The workshops are free of charge and open to everyone, not only professionals, and held in english. The workshop is hosted by Juli Apponen who is an artist working predominantly with various forms of performance and choreog- raphy. She produces and tours internationally with several co-operations and projects as well as her own solos – as director, choreographer, writer and performer.

TALKING GENDERS SENIOR / LANDSCAPES ARTIST: HIMHERANDIT PRODUCTIONS (DK), TYPE: EXHIBITION

Landscapes presents an ambiguous, visceral and poetic panoramic visual horizon, built up from a collection of diverse senior bodies. In microscopic detail different forms combine as curves morph into hills, legs into mountains, and skins into earthy scenery that pulsates with breath. Landscapes redesigns the way we view and experience aging bodies and identities today. We specifically bring together a range of different LGBTQIA+ seniors from different countries to postulate between our differences and our similari- ties, between our bodies and our landscapes.

The Women’s Museum’s new exhibition Gender Blender disseminates gender issues through a historical time line and eight different themes; Work, Humour, Body, Heritage, Politics, The World, Art and Activism. The exhibition grows and develops with input from the audience, the public debate and new knowledge within the field of gender.

Farming is a colourful, bizarre and energetic exhibition presenting video installation, sound and performance. The audience walks through the installation, and is met by pow- erful images full of philosophical content. Several questions are put forth: What is a good life? Why do we reproduce ourselves? Are traditional gender roles a social construction? Should queer be the norm? Do contemporary family structures challenge individualism? What does social pressure do to our identity?

NO ROOM FOR IMAGINATION ARTIST: TEGLGÅRD PLUS FOUR (DK), TYPE: EXHIBITION

NO ROOM FOR IMAGINATION is a photographic art project and exhibit which focuses on how the camera as a medium plays with our idea of objective “truths”, and at the same time manipulates that very same idea through choice of motive and not least editing. Without any ado, unnecessary explanations or self-imposed limits, five young artists will, through photo and video, challenge their own and their surroundings’ views on gender, sexuality and identity in the fractured world that visual media, including photography, constantly navigates within.
