Metodologi Dakwah Islam Nusantara
Alfriyani Pongpindan Islam Khas Indonesia… Islam Khas Indonesia: Metodologi Dakwah Islam Nusantara Alfriyani Pongpindan; UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta; [email protected] Abstract At present there is a tendency for Islam to be synonymous with Arabic culture so that being a true Muslim one must become an Arab Muslim represented in the form of, for example, veils, rather short pants, robes, and so on. Muslims should become Muslims who are truly indigenous according to the culture of Indonesia which is very rich and diverse. Basically humans cannot be separated from their culture because that is their identity from generation to generation to embrace Islam does not necessarily leave the characteristic of local culture that has been inherited by their ancestors. Islam in Indonesia was brought by Arab traders peacefully because it was able to adapt to the culture of Nusantara. Before Islam entered Indonesia, animism, dynamism, Hinduism and Buddhism colored the culture of Nusantara. Islam used that culture as a method of preaching to introduce Islam to non-Islamic communities. Islam comes with unique teachings through the concept of monotheism and egalitarianism in the context of societies that worship gods and caste systems in Hindu teachings so that non-Muslims are attracted to Islam. The Nusantara culture used by Islam as a method of da'wah includes: through building art, carving, music, dance, games, rituals, languages, the use of puppets, and so on. Walisongo is the most enthusiastic preacher in using culture as da'wah so that Islam can rapidly on the Island of Java. Keywords: Islam, Nusantara Culture and Da'wah Method. -

Nilai-Nilai Edukatif Suluk Ketentraman Jiwa Sunan Bonang Dalam Pandangan Islam
MEIS__________________Jurnal Middle East and Islamic Studies, Volume 5 No. 2 Juli – Desember 2018 Nilai-Nilai Edukatif Suluk Ketentraman Jiwa Sunan Bonang dalam Pandangan Islam Fatchullah Zarkasi, Mu’minatus Fitriati Firdaus Universitas Gunadarma E-mail : [email protected], [email protected] Abstract The majority of Indonesia's population are Javanese with distinctive traditions, such as other communities, which give a distinctive color to the development of patterns of understanding and practice of Islam in this country. The typical Javanese Islam is often called kejawen Islam, or abangan. The majority of Javanese who are called by many parties "abangan people" have their own views on the major religions in the World. For Niels Mulder in his book, Javanese tend to view Islam as an Arab religion, so that Islam seems to have failed to be placed as a basis for living beliefs for the Javanese. However, almost no Muslim in Indonesia has never heard the name Wali Songo, a collective unit of 9 guardians. Sunan Kalijaga is better known than the other 8 guardians with various monumental works. The world of puppet is said to be the fruit of the work of this guardian, as Sekaten, which has been called, is a tradition of celebrating the birthday of the Prophet which is officially celebrated by the Kingdom of Yogyakarta and Surakarta, to the present. According to Prof. Dr. Omar M. Taomy al Syaibany in his book Philosophy of Islamic Education, he said: “Islamic education is an attempt to change the behavior of individuals in their social life and also in the natural environment through the educational process. -

BAB III HASIL LAPORAN PENELITIAN METODE TERAPI TOMBO ATI DI PONDOK PESANTREN ISTIGHFAR KAMPUNG PERBALAN KELURAHAN PURWOSARI KOTA SEMARANG A. Gambaran Umum Pondok Pesantren Istighfar Kampung Perbalan Kelurahan Purwosari Kota Semarang 1. -
PILGRIMAGE AS THIRD SPACE: Contesting “Image” of Sunan Ampel
PROCEEDINGS ANCOMS 2017 1st Annual Conference for Muslim Scholars Kopertais Wilayah IV Surabaya PILGRIMAGE AS THIRD SPACE: Contesting “Image” of Sunan Ampel Achmad Fawaid Institut Agama Islam Nurul Jadid- Karanganyar Paiton Probolinggo [email protected] Abstracts:This paper is to analyze “image” of Sunan Ampel, including Ampel tombs, mosque, wells, and market, projected within the three online directoriesand the possible impacts of this use on different visitors. By using Turner’s concept “communitas”, liminality, and third space, Sunan Ampel site is also considered as a space in which the ties between tourism and pilgrimage are unclear, blurred, and poorly classified. This relationship has also resulted in possible potentialities on how that site has projected mysticism, death, and apophantic nature of Sunan Ampel. The changing projection of the site will be also highlighted in the context of economic and social contestation. The consequence of such interpretation is that Sunan Ampel could be empty vessel in which the interpretative battle and representations are continuosly contested. “Sacred pilgrimage” to Sunan Ampel, finally, overlaps with tourism, trade, expression of nationalism, cyber-pilgrimage, and others. Keywords: Sunan Ampel, pilgrimage, image, third space INTRODUCTION TO SUNAN AMPEL Sunan Ampel was the spiritual force behind the founding of Java’s first Nusantara Islamic kingdom in Demak. As the origins of Sunan Ampel, it is believed that his father Syekh Maulana Ibrahim Asmorokondi, who came from the Middle East or somewhere in Central Asia, married a princess of Campa, from where the young Raden Rachmad (Sunan Ampel) arrived in Java early in the 15th century. He died in A.D. -

The Royal Mosques in Indonesia from 16Th to Early 20Th Centuries As a Power Representation
I.P. Nasution, Int. J. of Herit. Archit., Vol. 1, No. 3 (2017) 494–502 THE ROYAL MOSQUES IN INDONESIA FROM 16TH TO EARLY 20TH CENTURIES AS A POWER REPRESENTATION ISMAN Pratama NASUTION Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia. ABstract This study describes the characteristics of the royal mosques in Indonesia from the 16th century to the early 20th century through the architectural and archaeological study of the building’s components. Royal mosques are meaningful in the concept of building because they are the places for sultans and their people to pray, and these mosques are located in the capital cities of the Islamic empires that rep- resent the sultans and became the identity of the characters of the Islamic empires in the past. Through architectural and archaeological studies of several kingdom’s mosques in Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi and North Maluku, this research observes the data with the context of space (spatial) with the central government (the palace), squares, markets, tombs and other buildings of a king. In addition, this paper studied the aspects of power relations with the palace mosque as the centre of power, to reveal the power of representation in the mosque, with attention to the style of the building and ritual. The results obtained show that the royal mosques in Indonesia have special characteristics displayed in the building form and the local ritual practices that are different from non-royal mosques and the mosques outside of Indonesia as a strategy and resistance against global Islamic power relations in the past. Keywords: identity and resistance, royal mosque, the representation of power.
