Read Full License Page 1/24 Abstract Introduction: The huge workload on doctors especially residents, who are the main healthcare providers in public hospitals, in addition to the vanishing incomes and lack of personal safety during the decade-long Syrian crisis, led to further hurdles for the focus on research. Postgraduate students in the medical and paramedical elds must conduct original research projects as part of their graduation requirements. However, that does not reect on the research publications coming from Syria. Methods: A nation-wide cross-sectional study targeting medical, dental, and pharmacy postgraduate students who are at the phase of planning for their required projects. The questionnaire aimed to capture their attitudes towards research, perceived barriers, and previous research experiences. Results: The sample consisted of 429 residents representing about 21.5% of the target population. Nearly all the participants had positive opinion towards the important role of medical research and the signicance of their participation. Agreement was also clear regarding perceived barriers including the lack of adequate training, and research facility.

  • Master's in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
1/5 Master's in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene PRÉSENTATION Suffering from long-standing conflicts, chronic water shortages and the consequences of climate change, the Middle East faces immense humanitarian needs, especially regarding water, sanitation and hygiene. These requirements are seen as one of the main priorities for most countries in the region. In Syria and Yemen, over 30 million people have been affected this year, as much of the local infrastructure has been damaged. Making training programmes accessible in this region of the world is therefore a critically important issue. In order to address these needs, the German-Jordanian University, Action Against Hunger, a leading international NGO in this field, and Bioforce are launching the first humanitarian master’s in water, sanitation and hygiene (WaSH) in the Middle East. From next September, the future WaSH managers in these areas devastated by several years of conflict will contribute to the development of the operational capacity of humanitarian organisations. A comparison was conducted between the results obtained by Eduroute regarding the ranking of the top three universities in Jordan, and the results obtained by the heuristic evaluation method regarding the usability of the top three universities’ websites. Before employing the heuristic evaluation method, two steps were taken: Investigating the most frequently visited pages on a university’s website from the viewpoint of 237 students, and developing a set of comprehensive heuristics specific to educational websites.
