Visit with WORLD RE-NOWNED AUTHORS 13th annual National Book Festival

Join the Friends of the Library at Millersville University for their annual bus trip to the Festival, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21. We will depart Millersville at 7:00 a.m. , make a brief comfort stop en route and arrive in Washington approximately 10:00 am. We will depart Washington, D.C. at 5:15 pm, make no stop and, return to Millersville approximately 8:00 p.m.

The Festival features authors who write in a wide variety of genres, including Fiction & Fantasy , History & Biography , Mysteries & Thrillers, Poetry, Home & Family, and Teens & Children and, illustrators. Festival goers can meet and hear firsthand from their favorite poets and authors, get signed, hear special entertainment, have photos taken with storybook characters and participate in a variety of activities. More information and a list of participating authors should be available in July or August with changes into September. The popular Pavilion of the States represents programs and literary events in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. trusts and territories. The Library of Congress will also have its own pavilion with demonstrations on a wide variety of services.

The Festival is organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress and is held on the in Washington, D.C., rain or shine. This is the annual event for readers, writers, book clubs, and families to see, hear and meet the authors. President and are honorary chairs for the event.

$45.00 per person Register NOW! Reservations will be on a first-come basis. Space is limited. You are encouraged to register early since the Friend’s tour has SOLD OUT in the past.

TOUR INCLUDES : Round trip motor coach transportation from Millersville, free time to explore and participate in the National Book Festival, and bus driver gratuity.

TOUR PRICE : $45.00 per person

PLANNED ITINERARY : 7:00 A.M. Depart Millersville, Pike House Parking Lot off George St. Brief ‘comfort stop’ en route 10:00 a.m. Approximate arrival in Washington, D.C. Enjoy the NATIONAL BOOK FESTIVAL , the National Mall, Museums, and Galleries Lunch on your own 5:15 p.m. Depart Washington, D.C. (Travel straight through-No stops) 8:00 p.m. Approximate return in Millersville

** Please note that boarding the day of the tour will be based on the date your reservation/payment is received…the sooner you pay, the sooner you board.

CANCELLATION: Depending on availability, registration may be up to AND after August 20 th , but NO REFUNDS AFTER AUGUST 20 . If you find it necessary to cancel, payment is only refundable until August 20. If you need to cancel after August 20, you are encouraged to find someone to replace you.
