Preamble: As per proposal submitted by this Office reference (1), regarding removal of trees by department in the 63.085 Ha Forest land under this Division which are obstacle for four lane/six lane highway construction between Goa/Karnataka NH-66 (17) coming under proposed forest land are to be cut, processed departmentally, Chief Conservator of Forest, Canara Circle, Sirsi, has issued permission in the Official memorandum as referred (2) for transportation to cut trees to Govt. Timber Depot & Firewood to concerned Firewood Depot. In the Bhatkal Range, forest land coming under National Highway widening, permission has to be issued for cutting of 1736 marked trees, ordered as following. Order For immediate removal of trees in the 63.085 ha Forest land which are obstacle for four lane/six lane Highway construction between Goa/Karnataka NH-66 (17), in the proposed forest land under Bhatkal Range in the following area to carry out work departmentally to transport firewood produced to your range firewood depot &_ logs, billets, poles to Govt. In any case transport firewood produced from valuable trees to firewood depot is not allowed. 03) Cutting of trees marked, for conversion & transportation of logs, poles & billets to nearby Govt. Depot & firewood to firewood depot, period has been fixed up to the date:28.02.2015 04) Work has to carried under Karnataka transporting Act 1999 & Forest proceeds produced are to be transported to govt. Depot I Firewood Depot. OS) Work has to be carried as per Karnataka Forest rule 1969 rule 58 & Karnataka Forest code chapter VII, to maintain accounts & records. 06) Staff concerned to the work has to record details of logs variety, log measurement, transportation & transit pass in KFAC format No.21 to 24, 33 & 35 concerned Range Forest Officer & As~t. Conservator of forest have to inspect regularly. Transit pass of ( .. 3 .. ) -3- Ql} During felling of marked trees care has to taken not to cut tree without mark. Asst. Conservator of Forest has to monitor issue proper direction to forest guard now & then submit names of forest guards deputed for supervision of said work to this office. 08) In the marked trees, perimeter more than 60 em are to converted to logs on priority basis convert first logs & billets next preparing other produces. Also logs & billets produced from the plantation are to be transported to Govt. Timber Depot only. 09) Work has to carried as per SSR approved for the year 2014-15. Action has to be taken to complete work latest by date: 28.02.2015. In any case no further time extension is allowed. 10) Excluding the trees in the KCDC handed over by Department, only other trees in the mark list are to be cut & transported.
