Quella colta, “legale” e alpina dell’avvocato Peppino Prisco, quella industriale e borghese della dinastia Moratti, quella semplice e romantica di Giacinto Facchetti, uomo d’altri tempi e campione di tutti, non solo dell’Inter. E poi le tante anime dei tifosi interisti, i più esigenti del mondo. Non potrò mai dimenticare quel tifoso di mezza età, in quel pomeriggio di qualche anno fa, che picchiava con violenza i pugni sul pullman dell’Inter insultando a squarciagola Marco Materazzi. Quell’anonimo invasato indossava però una maglia nerazzurra col numero ventitré, quella di Materazzi, naturalmente. E poi l’amico Marco Policastro, che il 22 maggio 2010 allo stadio “Santiago Bernabeu” di Madrid, al minuto novantadue, quando eravamo già tutti coi pugni al cielo al grido di Campioni d’Europa, riusciva ancora a mandare a quel paese Pandev dopo un passaggio sbagliato. Giacinto Facchetti però è stato unico, trasversale e indimenticabile, quasi un eroe romantico.

FACT Sheet FIFA awards The FIFA World Player Gala has been in existence since 1991. In 2010, it was merged with France Football’s Ballon d’Or award to form the new “FIFA Ballon d’Or”. The newly named FIFA Ballon d’Or is a combination of the FIFA World Player of the Year award and France Football’s Ballon d’Or. The 2010 winner was chosen by national team coaches and captains as well as media representatives from all over the world. The FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year award was also decided by the votes of national team coaches and captains as well as media representatives from all over the world. For the first time, Coach of the Year awards were presented at the ceremony to honour the top coaching talent in both the men’s and women’s games. Fireworks and confetti erupted from the back of the podium as Cannavaro and his Italian teammates celebrated their 2006 World Cup win, the fourth time the nation had won the competition. Only Brazil has won the competition on more occasions. Th e azzurri had just beaten France in a dramatic penalty shoot-out in the fi nal in Germany. As the Italy team huddled around the cup and took turns in kissing the gold trophy, they became drenched in confetti and emotion. Over the public address system, the ‘ Triumphal March ’ from Verdi ’ s Aida reinforced the Italianness of the victory. Th e World Cup triumph appeared to be a vindication of the players who had endured a turbulent two months aft er allegations of match-fi xing surfaced in the Italian media.

FINE CAMPIONATO In copertina: Omar Sivori, 1961 (Archivio Farabola) FINE CAMPIONATO 19 -30 giugno 2019 Tullio Farabola nella redazione di un giornale con la sua Rolleiflex Quando Tullio Farabola (1920-1983), uno dei primi e più noti fotoreporter italiani, fondò la sua agenzia, nacque in lui l’idea di creare, a fianco del lavoro quotidiano, un archivio di immagini il più ampio ed esaustivo possibile nei temi, aggiornato continuamente, come esige il fotogiornalismo. Farabola completò poi il suo materiale acquisendo, nel dopoguerra, alcuni fondi fotografici della fine dell’Ottocento e degli inizi del nostro secolo. Oggi l’archivio è ancora in vita e conserva milioni di negativi che raccontano il Novecento in immagini. Qui ne presentiamo una selezione dedicata al calcio di una volta e ai suoi leggendari protagonisti, da Vincenzo Pozzo a Dino Zoff. Fotografie, stampate in edizione limitata, che raccontano lo sport e l’Italia dagli anni Trenta agli anni Sessanta: la gioia per la vittoria del Mondiale nel 1934, i ritratti dei grandi campioni come Omar Sivori, Sandro Mazzola, Gianni Rivera, ma anche le maglie di lana, i campi pieni di fango, gli stadi che ora non ci sono più.
