A Message from the Headteacher Dear Parents If you are reading this, it is either because you are thinking about sending your child to our school, or that you have already been offered a place at Cobham. Either way welcome to Cobham Primary School! We are fully aware that it is an absolute privilege to have your child attend our school and we take this level of responsibility very seriously. Our aim is to have every child running through the school gates excited about the day ahead! Cobham is a lovely school where the warmth and care provided for your children stands alone as the best in the area! Our ethos of ‘Caring, Proud & Successful’ can be seen when you observe the children in and around school. Cobham has a great team of teachers and teaching assistants whom provide high levels of teaching and learning which is engaging, active and fun. Children will be encouraged, nurtured and challenged to always give their best, to aim high and take real pride in who they are and what they achieve. The prospectus tells you all you need to know about the school, its aims and objectives, curriculum, activities and links with the community. However the best way to get to know whether our school is right for your child is to visit and see it for yourselves. Once you have seen the children and the school, I am in no doubt that you will agree that children feel happy, safe and are learning in a creative, fun way! As you can see by the many different reports and images of life at RGS during terms 1 and 2, it has been another impressive start to the academic year. It was fantastic to see so many students achieving their Gold Duke of Edinburgh award, an outstanding achievement for both the students and the staff who supported them along this journey.

  • 2020 Transfer to Secondary School School Admission Appeals
Please return your appeal form by 27 March 2020 2020 Transfer to Secondary School School Admission Appeals A Guide for Parents This guide is to help families who have not got a place at the secondary school they wanted. If you are disappointed and worried about where your child will go to school in September, this guide will answer some of your questions and explain what you can do next. In the first instance you should visit the school you have been offered to get a feel for it and meet with the headteacher. Once you have done this, if you are still not satisfied you may want to consider lodging an appeal for your preferred school(s). www.kent.gov.uk/schooladmissions Why didn’t my child get a place at the school I wanted? The County Council will have tried to offer a place at the school you wanted. If that hasn’t happened it’s probably because the school had more applications than places available and other children had a higher priority for the place than your child. It may also be because your child did not meet the entry requirements for the school and so could not be offered a place. What does this mean? When a school doesn’t have enough places for everyone who wants to go there, it has to have a way of deciding which children should get in. Often a school takes the children who live closest first, so if you live further away, it may have filled all its places with children who live nearer.
