We serve a compact catchment area and enjoy good relationships with other local schools. We consider ourselves fortunate to be very close to both the New Forest and sea, yet near to Bournemouth (20 minutes), Southampton (30 minutes), Winchester (40 minutes) and London (1 hour 45 minutes by train). You can expect to be well supported in your development as a professional: all our staff have an iPad. All students have laptop computers/iPads which the majority take home on a daily basis. Registered office: Gore Road, New Milton, Hampshire BH25 6RS OUTLINE JOB DESCRIPTION TEACHER OF DRAMA Main Scale – Full Time Required for September 2019 a well-qualified and highly enthusiastic teacher is sought to join a successful Expressive Arts Department teaching drama. All students study drama at Key Stage 3, with many opting to extend their studies at GCSE and Advanced level. This is an exciting opportunity for an NQT or experienced colleague. Applicants must be skilful practitioners, strong in theatre skills, with good subject knowledge, able to plan, prepare, co-ordinate and participate in lively lessons and extra-curricular activities. Facilities include 3 drama spaces in addition to the performance area of the Main Hall. Expressive Arts are a strong feature of the school with good practice highlighted in the school’s recent inspection. The Arnewood School is a high achieving Academy, attractively situated on the Hampshire/Dorset border, 10 minutes from both the New Forest and the sea. The Drama department is both successful and forward looking. The Arnewood School is judged OfSTED good with post-16 results in the top 10% of school in the UK. Commitment Hampshire County Council and its post 16 providers are committed to ensuring transport is available to enable students to access education and training as set out in this policy statement. Support is provided either by the County Council or post 16 providers. This policy statement applies for 2017/18 only and sets out the support available. There is no automatic entitlement to free home to school or college transport once a student is over 16. The authority has considered its resources and the travel to college opportunities for students. Students can attend a college of choice and, if needed apply to their college’s student support for assistance. The cost and mechanical process of transporting young people with special educational needs is greater and more complex. HCC recognises that families may need a transport service to ensure that 16+ SEN students can access a place that is suitable for their needs and so do offer, under discretionary powers, a transport service that requires an annual parental contribution. 2. General transport available There are a number of public transport service providers in Hampshire. Colleges and schools in Hampshire have their own transport arrangements but the situation does vary. Students should check with their establishment about the transport arrangements and ticketing prices that can apply to both bus and train travel.

The first and most significant was that we entered our fifth year. During that time we have learnt much about how to run a successful national network of local Hubs of schools with a common purpose of providing the best education possible for all our pupils, especially the most disadvantaged. Membership of the Network of Excellence reached over 300 schools. This increase came from some new Hubs and also the continual growth of our existing ones. The next milestone was our decision not to form a Challenge Partners MAT. This was made for two reasons. The considerable additional funding we would have had to provide to support its formation, and that our leadership team felt our role was to support those members who wished to form their own MATs and not to compete with them. There are now over 30 MATs in Challenge Partners, with more joining. Nearly a third of the schools are now in MATs and the numbers continue to increase significantly. This has caused us to focus on our core provision for our schools and that now includes the very popular weekly email and a national brokering service.

We place great emphasis on both the high standards of musical achievement and the enjoyment which our students experience through learning an instrument. We do employ highly qualified music teachers and this expert tuition has enabled a large number of children to take part in many concerts throughout the year, both in and out of school. He was asked to attend a Board meeting by the RSC and to work with Mr O’Sullivan, as there are concerns re outcomes last year and ongoing Eaglewood issues. He has already had a couple of conversation with Mr O’Sullivan and that he is here to help support and provide advice.
