Festive sing-along at church Santa gets ready for the festive season SANTA called in at Frodsham’s Will to Work Workshop to check on preparations for the festive season. He found some of the workshop's 35 members, under the watchful eye of founder Geoff Prince, busy making wooden Christmas trees, toys and other gifts for the Frodsham Christmas Festival. The Will to Work Workshop, which provides rehabilitation for people with a wide variety of disabilities and specialises in making and repairing items such as benches, garden and household furniture, dolls houses and bird tables. It has recently been refurbishing bar stools and tables for local pubs - the Ring o' Bells Frodsham and Tunnel Top, Dutton. Other activities include pottery, wood turning, welding and refurbishment of bicycles.

FRODSHAM-based singing group Equinox are to perform their eighth annual Christmas Singalong at St Laurence's Parish Church on Sunday, December 23. The event, which starts at 7.30pm is organised with Frodsham and Helsby Rotary Club and the proceeds will be divided between the church and Rotary charities. There will be a mixture of carols, solos, Christmas songs old and new and maybe a surprise or two. Equinox have been entertaining audiences locally for the past 15 years with programmes ranging from the sacred and songs from the shows through to musical comedy. They have sung at concerts, dinners, charity evenings and many other occasions. Over the years they have raised thousands of pounds for various local charities, either by donating their fees, or performing free at fundraising events. Originally formed by members of local operatic societies, some of the original faces have changed along the way, but the spirit of giving quality entertainment lives on under the direction of their pianist Dorothy Devlin. The aim of the eight members is to provide a varied programme to suit the requirements of their audiences. They charge a fee for pure entertainment but are happy to discuss this for fundraising events. Details: Stuart Gardiner on 01928 733040.
