The best kept market town FRODSHAM has been named as the best kept market town in Cheshire. The town received the award at the annual Cheshire Community Pride Competition award ceremony at Middlewich. It was the fourth time Frodsham had won the award for a town in the 5,000-10,000 population range, having previously won in 2001, 2006 and 2007. The town also scooped a "Little Gem" award for its community Poral display. Mayor of Frodsham Cllr Lynn Riley said she was delighted with the town's success, which cames after its success in the best kept station competition earlier this year. She said: "We have high standards in Frodsham. It always looks clean, tidy and well-dressed and it's all credit to the work of the town council, supplemented by Cheshire West and Chester Council, and residents, and shows what, together, we can achieve." Helsby came third in the best kept village population 2,500-5,000 section, coming behind Tarporley and Kelsall, but picked up a Little Gem for their Diamond Jubilee commemorative wall and were runners-up for the best community newsletter. Last year Helsby did not enter the competition because of the number of eyesore sites in the village. Becky chats about her campaign with Sarah Page, Macmillan Cancer Support fundraiser for Cheshire.
