F. MÜLLER, 1774) WZDŁUŻ LINII KOLEJOWEJ OLEŚNICA – GNIEZNO W WIELKOPOLSCE The abundant occurrence of the Three-toothed Bulin Snail Chondrula tridens (O. F. Müller, 1774) along the Oleśnica – Gniezno railway in Wielkopolska ABSTRAKT: W artykule scharakteryzowano stanowiska kserotermicznego ślimaka – wałkówki trój- zębnej Chondrula tridens (O. F. Müller, 1774) – zlokalizowane w siedliskach antropogenicznych na nasypach i w wykopach linii kolejowej Oleśnica – Gniezno (Wielkopolska). Otwarte, suche i nasłonecznione siedliska wzdłuż linii kolejowej stanowią dogodne siedliska zastępcze tego zagrożone- go gatunku mięczaka. SŁOWA KLUCZOWE: wałkówka trójzębna, linie kolejowe, siedliska antropogeniczne ABSTRACT: The paper presents the sites of the Three-toothed Bulin Snail Chondrula tridens (O. F. Müller, 1774) localised in anthropogenic habitats on embankments and in excavations along the Oleś- nica – Gniezno railway (Wielkopolska). In 2015 the species was found in 13 localities on a 100 km long section of the railway between Zduny and Gniezno. As natural habitats of the species in the sur- roundings are scarce, it is probable that the snails were introduced to the sites with building materials. Open, dry, insulated grasslands along tracks are suitable alternative habitats for this endangered snail species. Lichadonisia is one of the few volcanic island groups of Greece, consisting mainly of lava flows. Today the islands are uninhabited with high numbers of visitors, but permanent population existed for many decades in the past. Herein, we present for the first time the land snail fauna of the islets and we compare their species richness with islands of similar size across the Aegean Sea. This group of small islands, provides a typical example on how human activities in the current geological era, i.e., the Anthropocene, alter the natural communities and differentiate biogeographical patterns.

KRAMARENKO Mykolaiv National Agrarian University, Paryzka Komuna St. 9, Mykolaiv, 54020, Ukraine (e-mail: [email protected]) ABSTRACT: Mechanisms which govern patterns of intra-specific vatiation in land snails were traced within areas of different size, using Brephulopsis cylindrica (Menke), Chondrula tridens (O. F. Müller), Xeropicta derbentina (Krynicki), X. krynickii (Krynicki), Cepaea vindobonensis (Férussac) and Helix albescens Rossmässler as examples. Morphometric shell variation, colour and banding pattern polymorphism as well as genetic polymorphism (allozymes and RAPD markers) were studied. The results and literature data were analysed in an attempt to link patterns to processes, with the following conclusions. Formation of patterns of intra- specific variation (initial processes of microevolution) takes different course at three different spatial scales. At micro-geographical scale the dominant role is played by eco-demographic characteristics of the species in the context of fluctuating environmental factors. At meso-geographical scale a special part is played by stochastic population-genetic processes. At macro-geographical scale more or less distinct clinal patterns are associated with basic macroclimatic

Historia naturalis bulgarica, 21: 13-48, 2015 Terrestrial gastropods (Mollusca, Gastropoda) of Strandzha Mountain and the Black Sea coast (Bulgaria and Turkey) Atanas Irikov, Ivelin Mollov Abstract: The current synopsis presents an overview of the terrestrial malacofauna of Strandzha Mountain in Bulgaria and Turkey, based on previously published and new data. As a result of the research we recorded 101 species and subspecies of ter- restrial molluscs belonging to 27 families. The data on the terrestrial malacofauna from the Turkish part of Strandzha is entirely new and presented here for the first time. The synopsis includes a list of synonymous species and subspecies concerning the area of research, all known localities, new localities reported for 50 taxa, systematic and environmental data. For the first time a zoogeographical and conservation analysis of the terrestrial snails is made. Key words: terrestrial gastropods, snails, slugs, Strandzha Mountain, Bulgaria, Turkey. Its populations are very scattered and poor in individuals. This picture was taken in the Forêt de Muracciole in Central Corsica, an occurrence which was known since the end of the 19th century, but was completely destroyed by a heavy man-made forest fire in 2000.

Ekológia (Bratislava), Vol. 38, No. 4, p. 367–381, 2019. This paper examines the temporal dynamics of terrestrial mollusks of the Nikopol manganese ore basin technosols. The research was carried out at the Research Centre of the Dnipro Agrarian and Economic University in Pokrov (Ukraine). Sampling was carried out in 2012–2014 on four variants of artificial soil: formed on red-brown clays, on loess-like loams, on gray-green clays, and on humus-rich layer. The distribution of the number of individuals in a mollusk population was described by broken stick, Motomura, log-normal, Zipf, and Zipf-Mandelbrot models. It was shown that the series of models that best describe mollusk abundance distribution is specific for a particular species and technosols type and generally is invariant over time. Key words: land snails, technosols, distribution, population. Introduction Habitat is characterized by the availability of a certain range of resources and ecological con- ditions for a given species, which creates conditions to occupy, survive and reproduce in a given territory (Hall et al., 1997).

The following hypotheses have been experimentally tested in the paper: 1) the vegetation type affects the change Bogdan Khmelnitsky in the shell shape of Chondrula tridens martynovi Gural-Sverlova & Gural, 2010; 2) the change in the shell shape of this species is influenced Melitopol State by the biotope moisture regime; 3) the shell shape changes depending on the anthropogenic load level. The material in the form of empty, fully Pedagogical University, formed Ch. tridens shells was collected in 2019 in the north-western Azov region within the basin of the Molochna River. The collection points Hetmanska st., 20, Melitopol, 72318, Ukraine. were located in settlements and outside them and differed in vegetation, moisture regime and level of anthropogenic load.
