The South Sector capped the year’s activities at GK Aya-Multinational Village with a Christmas party and gift-giving in the morning of December 14, 2008. Nine BCGGs raised funds to fill 120 pails with basic goods and a noche buena meal, and to treat 120 families (about 580 persons) to a hearty lunch of bijon, adobo and rice. Two carts of “dirty ice cream” drew long queues from both kids and adults. Tony & Aida with children and grandchildren GK's Filipino Dance Troupe The affair began with a Mass with songs sung by the choir of young adults from the GK village. This was followed by a program by different members of the GK village — the GK theme song and a modern dance by the young kids (“Sibol”), two modern dance numbers by teens and young adults (“Sagip” and “Siga”), a “macho” dance number by the men, and finally, a Filipino dance number by the women. In between numbers, 55 raffle prizes for the home were given away, the grand prize being an electric fan. Another set of gifts, this time toys Tony & Aida del Rosario with CFC and GK leaders Vina Dimanalata, Carline Chua Chiaco & Yohann Suarez courtesy of an employer of a GK resident, at the registration table was raffled off among the children. Culminating the event was the distribution of the goodies, and lunch for all. In attendance were Couples for Christ GK caretaker team leaders Mon and Ditas Alquizalas and Jack and Cory Enriquez, and Magis Deo South Sector couples headed by Pastoral Council chaircouple, Monchito and Tina Mossesgeld. A few happenings behind the scenes touched our hearts and are worth sharing:
