None of us will forget the hurdles of the last several months, but I am proud of how the Erskine community faced those challenges. Our students worked hard to complete the semester online and to finish strongly. Now we are back on campus and looking forward to the 2020-21 academic year. Even with the need to practice physical distancing, to wear masks, and to maintain proper health safety, we will focus this year on learning to think biblically, addressing current Dr. Robert E. Gustafson cultural issues, and discovering the importance President of teamwork and collaboration as we grow in knowledge. We are committed to building close relationships and a strong academic community that values careful scholarship and vibrant Christian commitment. The natural beauty of our campus reminds us daily of God’s creative power. Our small size affords each of you the chance to explore and develop your gifts through service and leadership. It also offers opportunities for friendships with professors, staff, and others on campus beyond the student body. Finding a mentor during your college years is one of the key indicators for success here at Erskine and in your adult life. As a Christian college, we acknowledge the cross of Jesus Christ as central for understanding who we are as human beings and for coming to know the God of compassion and grace. As John
