Catalog 2019-20 Institutional Mission Catalog 2019-20 Institutional Mission: Erskine College exists to glorify God as a Christian academic community where students are equipped to flourish as whole persons for lives of service through the pursuit of undergraduate liberal arts and graduate theological education. In 1839, Erskine’s founders envisioned a college that would prepare young adults to think biblically and to lead with integrity in the Church and in the wider culture. From its inception, the Erskine College community has always exhibited qualities of a close-knit academic village dedicated to careful scholarship and vibrant Christian commitment. Erskine’s strong liberal arts curriculum demands critical thinking, precise writing, and collaborative teamwork. These skills enable our graduates to succeed in their post- graduate studies and careers. Dr. Robert E. Gustafson As a small liberal arts college in a bucolic President setting, we prize our campus, which displays the beauty of the created world. Our size enhances our community atmosphere and offers every student opportunities for leadership in various activities and organizations.
