Pianist Christian Wilm Müller studied with Volkmar Lehmann in Weimar and Oleg Maisenberg in Stuttgart. Other important teachers have been Detlef Kraus (D), Menahem Pressler (USA), Ferenc Rados (H). Müller has won many prizes and scholarships as a soloist and chamber musician, including Usti nad Labem, the Deutsche Musikwettbewerb, the Allianz-Prize of the Festspiele Mecklenburg- Vorpommern, Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, and a period of study at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.

Concert tours as soloist and chamber musician – often as the of the Liszt-Trio Weimar – have taken him throughout Europe, to Australia, Iran, Japan and South Korea. He has performed with the Deutschen Sinfonie Orchester Berlin, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe, the Schleswig-Holstein Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestras of Gotha, Meiningen and Thessaloniki (Greece). He has also appeared at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Music Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Oleg Kagan Music Festival, the Beethoven Fest Bonn, the Beethoven Festival Sutri (Italia), the Kitakyushu International Music Festival (Japan) and the Kunstfest Weimar. He has given concerts with members of the Berlin Komische Oper, the NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo and the Philharmonic.

Müller has participated in live radio and television broadcasts for NDR, MDR, Bartòk Radio Budapest, DW, 3sat, and NHK in Japan. He has also been involved in various campact disc recordings. The second CD by the Liszt-Trio Weimar included piano trios by Mauricio Kagel and Alfred Schnittke appeared in 2006 (aeon) and was awarded the Coup de Coeur of the Académie Charles Cros Paris. A solo CD included the last piano pieces op.116 to op.119 by Johannes Brahms appeared in 2012 by spektral.

Müller is teaching piano and piano at the University of Music Weimar since 1997, where, in 2007, he was appointed professor. In addition, since 2017 he is the head of the Franz-Liszt-Centre at the University of Music. Between 2008 until 2017, he was artistic director of the Centre for High gifted Students at the Liszt University Weimar.

Christian Wilm Müller has also given master classes in piano elsewhere in Europe, the United States, Japan and South Korea and Australia.
