Many thanks to all of you for following our activities and enjoying our Artists‘ and Projects‘ brochure! 2019 ended on a sad note with Mariss Jansons passing away. We will always remember him full of gratitude and admiration as the wonderful artist, musician, friend and human being he was. Looking ahead we face a very special year for Raab & Böhm: 2020 marks our 50th Anniversary – 50 years full of music for which we are deeply grateful to all our artists, partners, supporters, employees and which make us indeed feel proud! A year in which we will look back at compelling moments in the company’s history, but also ahead, always under our motto „Music matters“. Immer wieder haben große Pianisten diesen Zyklus aufgeführt und auf unzähligen Schallplatten und CDs eingespielt. Bücher und Publikationen beschäftigen sich mit den Werken und den Interpreta- tionen. Und immer wieder hat es den Reiz, des Besonderen, wenn diese Werke wieder neu er- klingen. Als bekannt wurde, dass der österreichische Pianist Till Fellner sich für die nächsten beiden Kon- zertjahre diesen Zyklus als Projekt vorgenommen hatte, begann Andreas G. Winter, Leiter des FMZ und verantwortlich für die Programmgestaltung, als er Till Fellner dafür gewinnen konnte, diesen Zyklus, den Fellner auch in Wien, London, Paris, Tokio und New York spielt, auch im FMZ üeine Konzeption zu der Reihe „32 “zu entwickeln. Um die 32 Klavier- sonaten von Ludwig van Beethoven, deren erste 3 Abende Fellner in dieser Saison (weitere 4 A- bende in der nächsten) spielen wird, konnte Winter weitere namhafte Interpreten gewinnen, die Werke des großen Komponisten der Aufklärung in Zusammenhang mit Kompositionen von Schubert, Schumann und Brahms stellen werden. Her musical development also received significant artistic inspiration from Elisabeth Leonskaja, Lazar Berman, Oleg Maisenberg, Alexander Satz and Mstislaw Rostropowitsch. Since her first public performance in her hometown Belgrade at the age of eight, she has consistently excelled in solo recitals, piano concerts, radio and TV programmes as well as in various chamber music formations, such as the „Horn-Trio-Wien“. She recorded her first CD with the renowned Quarteto Amazonia from Brazil. In October 2001 she won the Second Steinway-Competition in Vienna, receiving a further special prize for the best interpretation of Haydn. In November 2001 she was awarded a scholarship by the prestigious Herbert von Karajan Centrum in Vienna and the Gottfried von Einem Foundation. In 2002 she was granted the Austrian National Award for Women in the Arts. For the 2003/04 season Anika Vavic, following the recommendation of the Vienna Musikverein and the Vienna Konzerthaus, was chosen for the highly esteemed „Rising Stars“ concert-cycle, which has taken her as a soloist to the most famous concert houses in the world – amongst others to Carnegie Hall, New York; Wigmore Hall, London; Concertgebouw, Amsterdam; Vienna Musikverein; Cologne Philharmonie; Megaron, Athens; Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles and Cité de la Musique, Paris.

    Intervju: Anna Vinnitskaya Jag vill lämna publiken med upplevelser som efter en bra film, med nya erfarenheter och upplevelser, snarare än att imponera med virtuositet Konsertpianisten Anna Vinnitskaya tog emot CAPRICCIO på Konzerthaus i Berlin i våras i samband medhennes framförande av Dmitrij Sjostakovitjs första pianokonsert. Vinnitskaya övar när jag anländer, och jag väntar avsiktligt med att knacka på dörren till repetitionsrummet för att inte avbryta mitt i en fras i Rachmaninovs tredje pianokonsert. Samma dag som vårt samtal ägde rum släpptes även hennes senaste skiva med Bachkonserter för piano, inspelad medEvgeni Koroliov, Ljupka Hadzi Georgievaoch Kammerakademie Potsdam (Alpha). Anna Vinnitskaya föddes 1983 i Novorossiysk vid Svarta havet. Båda hennes föräldrar var pianister och hon tog tidigt pianolektioner, från sex års ålder. Hon har gett konserter internationellt sedan hon var sju år gammal. När Vinnitskaya var liten fann hon glädje i musikutövandet; som tonåring blev pianospelandet dock alltmer en form av yrkesidentitet nästan i en slags sportslig riktning för den vänsterhänta pianisten. Hon gav sin första stora konsert – Sjostakovitjs andra pianokonsert – när hon var tolv år gammal. Vinnitskaya har vunnit ett antal tävlingar, första gången när hon var tretton, bland annat Queen Elizabeth Competition i Bryssel 2007 då hon vann första pris – hon var den andra kvinnliga pianisten någonsin att vinna tävlingen – och Leonard Bernstein Award 2008. Hon har även bland annat gett en Junge Wilde- konsert i Dortmund, och gav ut sitt debutalbum 2009. Vinnitskaya är ”Artist in Residence” vid Dresdner Philharmoniker innevarande säsong som kommer att avslutas med just Rachmaninovs tredje pianokonsert i juni 2020. He began piano lessons at the age of seven and continued with the study of harmony, counterpoint, analysis and composition as a teenager with Françoise Gangloff-Levéchin, Christian Manen and Louis Saguer. As a composer and conductor he has collaborated with leading orchestras and ensembles, such as the Brussels Philharmonic, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra, Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra, Sofia National Philharmonic Orchestra, National Orchestra of Belgium, Azalea Ensemble, Manson Ensemble, Cosmic Voices choir, Isis Ensemble and Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles. More recently he was Composer in Residence to the City of Heidelberg - 'Komponist für Heidelberg 2012|13", featuring the orchestral commission The Secret which premiered in 2013 with the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the composer. Since 2013 he works as Assistant Conductor for the Royal Ballet at ROH Covent Garden, London, where he is involved with a number of world premieres. In 2010-11 he was SAM Embedded Composer with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London. He has completed a PhD doctorate in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music, University of London (2012), in which he developed his Morphing Modality technique for composition. He also holds Masters' degrees in both Composition and Conducting from the Royal Academy of Music and the National Academy of Music 'Pancho Vladigerov', Sofia, Bulgaria. Born in 1983 at Varna, Bulgaria, he is based in London since 2005, holding both Bulgarian and British citizenship. He is a laureate of the International Composers' Forum TACTUS in Brussels, Belgium, where his works featured in the selection in 2004, 2008 and 2011; the Grand Prize for Symphonic Composition dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of the Sofia National Philharmonic Orchestra in 2003; the UBC Golden Stave Award in 2004; orchestral commission prize in memory of Sir Henry Wood by the Royal Academy of Music, London, in 2011; he was a finalist of the Hindemith Prize of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany in 2011 and a recipient of 15 prizes from national and international competitions as a percussionist.
